Volume Knob Unresponsive

I’m trying to figure out if it happens when I do a remote start or just start regularly but haven’t paid close enough attention. I’m running Compustar and wondering if that could be an issue? Anyone else running Compustar or do you see the issue without it?
Yeah dude that's what I'm thinking. I bet it's going to be only on the times you use remote start. I haven't checked mine I just know that it intermittently stops working and then I turn the vehicle on and off and it fixes it but it's annoying! I bet it's going to be an remote start thing.

Well two blocks from my house when I leave every day is a red light camera so I’m trained to have my finger on the steering wheel volume to lower it the second it starts dinging. That’s from the standard navigation but it absolutely works with any navigation. It’s going to start at level 15 and at 445am on the way to the gym it really wakes you up quick!!😂😂😂
I had to turn that off in settings, gave me a heart attack and almost did more harm than good, way too loud imo.

No offense to android but the UC5 is my crutch to this truck, really could be better.

Same here MY23 volume lag, not all the time but only when I least expect it.

Our 2019 Wrangler does this as well and for a longer period of time. Must be a CDJR issue not just TRX.

I believe this is an android auto/Apple car play issue. Haven't had this happen on my TRX. But it happens occasionally on our 21 Durango SRT. My wife uses Android Auto. I do not. I've noticed after she has driven the Durango with Android Auto and if it it is just me driving it. It gets hung up, the volume goes way up and freezes for the first few minutes.

I have Bluetooth turned off on my phone so it shouldn't be connecting. Not sure if it is trying to connect. But there is a setting to disable auto connect. Something like if Android was used last then connect. Also a setting for disabling automatically playing Android music.

This freezing doesn't happen all the time. And I haven't tested since changing the automatically auto connect to if last used.

There are also settings to change the volume of navigation. And I'm Waze I disabled all voice commands. So no more railroad crossing warnings after already passing the crossing.

How bad is the volume lag (assuming you mean it’s delayed)? I notice it for sure, but then I remind myself that it’s far worse in my wife’s X5, as in, it’s sometimes 15 seconds behind.

It happens when not doing a remote start as well. Got in truck, started it up, started messing with volume knob immediately and it seemed to adjust the volume just fine but then it stopped working for a few seconds and then it started working again. I think it is just something in the start sequence were this is a dead spot or something where the knob stops working temporarily as the computer is focusing on other things?

I don't use Android Auto or Apple Car Play but I do have two phones that are connected via Bluetooth automatically every time I get in.

I've seen anywhere from 5-30 seconds or so, so much so that I just reboot the unit. I wish we could get a solid UC5 update with no bugs. @RamCares

A solid UC5 update. 🤣. You will never get it. You will have to wait for UC6. And even then it will have the same issues. All we are are beta testers. UC6 will have a big bug with the hellcat gone. Is it worth it?

If I get one solid update I'm turning off auto updates and keeping it.

I guess I'm just lucky. I had an issue with traffic not showing up with the native maps, but other than that my UC5 has been flawless. As a matter of fact, after driving 3 different rental car over the last few weeks and owning 2 other, non-Stellantis brand vehicles, I am so glad to get back in my TRX every time.

Is this a known issue or just one of those things? I will get in the truck in the morning and the radio is too loud so I will use the volume knob to turn it down and it just does not turn down. It is like there is a 10-20 second delay after starting the truck until the volume knob will work. This does not happen every time, just once in awhile. I have reset the radio and it seems to go away for a bit but it will come back eventually.
I’ve noticed the same thing with mine. Same when I first start it up then try to turn on my vented seats. I press the button and it takes about 5 seconds to show the blue ‘vent’ lines.
