Is this a known issue or just one of those things? I will get in the truck in the morning and the radio is too loud so I will use the volume knob to turn it down and it just does not turn down. It is like there is a 10-20 second delay after starting the truck until the volume knob will work. This does not happen every time, just once in awhile. I have reset the radio and it seems to go away for a bit but it will come back eventually.

Mine is the same way. MY23. Random delay sometimes and sometimes not.

Read this and went to check mine. Seems to be working ok?

Same here too. MY2023. I also turn the volume down when I park and then wait till I drive off to turn it back up. Will admit its rather annoying though.

Mine does it occasionally on the first start up of the day. It's only a few second delay. I used the volume control on the back of the steering wheel to lower the volume when it was really loud one time.

I’m trying to figure out if it happens when I do a remote start or just start regularly but haven’t paid close enough attention. I’m running Compustar and wondering if that could be an issue? Anyone else running Compustar or do you see the issue without it?

No Compustar for me, but I do have IGLA.

Nope, no Compustar and I haven't done a remote start since the day my truck was delivered.

My 2023 does this sometimes as well and I don’t have an IGLA or Compustar.

IGLA + T13 compustar with drone but I do not think it’s related. It’s an electronics lag at start up where the knob doesn’t activate until the monitor fully loads up. I always turn my volume almost all the way off due to this. You can use the volume on your steering wheel to turn it down before the few seconds lag when the knob starts to work again. It’s just a weak processor on load up creating the lag. It should remedy itself always or a quick on/off cycle of the truck should fix it as well.

I don’t know shit though, this is just my exact experience. 😂😂✌️

My truck does this too. No IGLA or Compustar. Happens in the mornings and in the evenings. It’s fairly annoying, and I’ve also developed the habit of turning down the volume before I turn off the truck.
I had always chalked it up to something associated with CarPlay, as it seems the volume controls work with Waze (for example) during this period of time. So I don’t think the volume isn’t working - it’s that the controls are changing the volume of something else.

^^^Exactly this^^^
Has anyone found a way for volume settings to be saved after shutdown for Nav? I can’t stand Waze telling me things at a loud volume and don’t always remember to turn it down every time I start the truck.

I wish. Navigation is always blasting something when you least expect it since it defaults at level 15!!

I can’t speak for the factory nav, but the trick on Waze is this: you can change the volume level of the voice prompts, but it has to be done while it is talking. So keep your hand near the volume dial, and as it starts to talk, make the change. That permanently changes the Waze volume. At least for me.

Well two blocks from my house when I leave every day is a red light camera so I’m trained to have my finger on the steering wheel volume to lower it the second it starts dinging. That’s from the standard navigation but it absolutely works with any navigation. It’s going to start at level 15 and at 445am on the way to the gym it really wakes you up quick!!😂😂😂

Same here. Quirks and features of Ram ownership.

My 2010 Chevy Camaro had a feature where you could set the volume at a desired level every time you started the car. I’ve wished for that feature on every vehicle I’ve bought since that. I’ve just trained myself to set the volume to a lower level before I shut the truck off.

Compustar and IGLA are not on those circuits and are not coded to have any effect on them. You can try a soft reset of the uconnect but more than likely it is the coding from the last huge update. Since so many are having this issue it would be best to have each one start a ram cares or dealer ticket so they know its not a couple vehicles
