I noticed on the registry that the majority of all the trucks either built or that are in the different status that the last 6 digits of the vin numbers start with 900-903 but there are a very small amount that start with 684-685 Then back to the 900’s . Any ideas?

The last 6 are just a sequence number and can be any six digits. The separation may mean something internally to RAM but externally there is no significance. ie. Maybe they started assigning 68X numbers after the Stallantis transition so 90X were FCA and 68X were Stellantis? Pure guess there but I have seen jumps in serial numbers of engines for similar things.
