There's been a lot of discussion on this forum about order status and dealer allocations.
Question: if you receive a VIN, does this confirm that your dealer has received an allocation for your order? ...or is receipt of VIN unrelated to allocations?
Like many, I am still in BG with no VIN (ordered 9/1) and wondering if/when I receive a VIN that the dealer has received an allocation and my order is set in stone.
Thanks for your expertise guys !

Yes, VIN confirms an allocation.

Hang in there. lots of folks who ordered before and after you that are still in the same situation. FCA is still working to dole out the allocations and it seems as if more went out this week as more and more folks get VIN's. Its all based on where FCA wants the allocations to go it seems.

Folks need to do the dealership research before they buy. FCA definitely prioritizes dealerships with the highest sales volumes and highest customer satisfaction ratings.

So if you're purchasing from a smaller dealership that sits lower on the rating scale, then be prepared to wait longer.

and balance it with what you are paying too... ADM, MSRP or below MSRP. I can be paid to wait a few months :)

Totally agree! I would never pay above MSRP either, and I think it speaks loud and clear about dealership-character when they don't charge more than MSRP.

Yeah my local dealer had like a 70ish satisfaction rating... no allocations
I purchased from an Ohio dealer with a 90ish rating... 5 allocations

Probably could do a poll of which dealers got allocations and see if their rating is high to see if that's a factor

Where do you find a dealership's satisfaction rating?
