Anyone upgrade the alternator in the TRX. It appears excessive amperage makes three options (370, 400 and amps) and can customize the coloring etc… Anyone have any experience with this company?

The stock alternator is 250 amps so the 370 amp option will be plenty. It’s a badass looking alternator but haven’t heard anyone upgrading (for looks or additional amps) this part on the forum.

It seems to me that this outfit buys an available alternator and then dolls it up aesthetically.

If you want better charging capacity, look into who their source is, or search for higher amp alternators that fit.

I've only ever used Mechman, both back when I worked in car audio in high school and on my track C6. I blew through around five OEM alternators on that car before O'Reilly essentially told me to take a hike on the warranty. I bought a Mechman and haven't had a problem since.

Mechman doesn't make one compatible for the TRX it seems; only 5.7 Hemi

🤷

**oops. I will refresh before posting next time.

Could need for lots of reasons or all of the above: Lots of lights, aux pumps, stereo system etc.

but you have to be careful if you race or or at high rpms for sustained amount of time, or some consideration like that with high output alternators.

Sometimes, yes, and it's something to consider if it has a smaller pulley, which some high-performance aftermarket alternators do. But they tend to perform MUCH better in high heat and high RPMs than a normal alternator. I switched from an OEM to a mechman on my C6Z because I was burning up alternators on the track. The Mechman unit performed without issue.

The lower amperage Mechman has a factory size pulley so it wouldn't be a concern there:
