UConnect 4 to 5 Upgrade

Hey Guys I am sure there is a thread about this already but I couldn’t really find it. I am upgrading my 2021 Ram TRX Uconnect from UC 4 to UC 5. I have a Radio module for UC5 dated 07/22 and a Screen from a 22. I have the conversion cables from Weeknd Garage and I already did the programming in alfaobd. The screen stays black doesn’t turn on at all. The hazards and climate control work but the screen never comes on. The only setting changed per Weeknd Garage video is in Body Control Module, Cabin, ICS = Not Enabled and DCSD Enabled.

This is a 2nd radio module I buy as the first one was dated 2023 and Weekend Garage stated the radio module and screen need to be from the same year.

I’m looking to upgrade my 12” Uconnect 4 with a new module and screen to Uconnect 5 Beside for the new screen/module/wire harness what else would I need to get it up and running

I Was able to change year in BCM but screen still doesn’t come on… tried a few key cycles but still no luck

You didn’t need to change those settings. Since you already had the 12” they would have been set correctly. Might want to double check that you didn’t disable DCSD and enable ICS inadvertently.

Model year change is just to get the camera working. Wouldn’t stop the screen from powering up. Screen and module don’t have to be matching years, just both need to be UC5. What part number radio and screen are you using?

Okay I figured it out, I was using the same white cable that goes into the rear of the screen. Had to use the cable that came in the kit which he didn’t show in the video lol. Anyways have that done have the surround camera module swapped how do I calibrate in alfa obd

I dunno if they mention it in the video but you need to have an OBD interface that is capable of getting on the IHS bus to do this. Some of the cheap ones can’t.
