Hey Guys,

Im still in a bit of a shock but my 2022 TRX was just stolen this morning. Just got done filling out the police report and called my insurance.

My question is why the fuck does MOPAR not update the issue with the key signal being able to be intercepted? I hope they are able to recover my truck but if not I am not going back to Ram for this issue alone.

They don’t need to intercept the key signal. Break in, make a new key, drive away. Takes no time and no special tools.

Too easy? I agree completely but it is what it is. That’s why just about everyone here has upped the truck’s security on their own.

I saw on the app that the truck was turned off at 3:15 am and have since contacted Ram to work with my local sheriffs department. Is there any hope or possibility they will be able to locate it? Otherwise I’m expecting a total loss payout from my insurance.

Not really but the lack of security. I can only assume you didn't have any sort of anti-theft deterrent.
Nope live in a very safe area but turns out those are the areas these thieves target. I guess I’m finding out the hard way.

That blows hope you get it back. But if they know what they are doing which most have been taught GPS is disabled. They come to where it's safe not much to steal in their hoods. IGLA if you get it back. All new cars are easy to steal everyone forget kiaboyz!

Yeah I’m not expecting to get it back. But I did talk to some neighbors earlier and they also took someones 3500 down the street for a joyride and they ended up finding it a few days later.

Also yeah If I do somehow get it back Im installing that first thing.

For demanding more from MOPAR? Lol
What exactly is mopar going to do? ALL vehicles are stolen the same way and many makes and models are actually easier. What he is saying is you have been on this site almost 3 years and probably other platforms and see them stolen daily and you did nothing to protect or prevent it. Sorry this happened but in your case it wasn’t an if but a when.

How are they going to prevent a relay/clone of a key fob? Literally all of the ones made by all manufacturers are done the same with the exception of Toyota/lexus that lets you turn it off with the lock/unlock temporarily.

And you will lose a lot of money.

yeah unfortunately so. Guess I learned my lesson. My point still stands however when you pay up the ass for a car the manufacturer should do something additional to prevent theft especially if it is a known issue.

my truck was stolen back in 2023 but recovered. The factory GPS was disabled but the secondary Guidepoint GPS stayed enabled and was able to be used to locate and recover.

Jeez. How long did they take to locate it? How much was the repair when you recovered it?

Sucks this is where we are in the world. From childhoods where noone had to lock doors, to a present where they can steal a 100k truck in less than a minute and the future is only looking worse. Actual consequences for theft would really help. You would think manufacturer's would be held to account and have to fix a huge security issue like that. They don't care or it would be done. We all got forced the emergency notification update noone asked for. Funny how things we want though can't be done, NO, Stellantis just won't pay for it. These are the people who got bailed out with taxpayer funds and never paid it back. Too big to fail was bullshit and set us all up for this. Should have netted us all cheaper cars but look at the data they fucked up we bailed them out we got more expensive cars, makes no sense. Remember this is not all by chance my friends it's by design they profit when we loose!
