My 2022 Blue Hydro was stolen in Dallas metro yesterday. It sat outside of the Texas A&M school of Dentistry (close to Downtown) for about 3 hours and was jacked from the surface lot. No broken glass.

No aftermarket theft deterrent was installed.

Make sure you install the kill switch on yours immediately! They are coming for it.

Is this a genuine inquiry? Or a troll question to start another IGLA vs Ravelco thread?

IGLA is a security system. The forum search function is your friend.

100% genuine.. i've never heard of either of these brands... i dont know what a "kill switch" is

nor have i installed any sort of system on my cars... never thought it was needed?

all these stories of stolen trxs is crazy and now i'm just seeing what otions there are to protect it.

Like i said i put an apple airtag in my truck but thats not gonna do a whole lot i feel.

I know you’re not a troll, but maybe just search IGLA and you’ll find lots of info.. as @Eighty said, it’s been a hot topic as of lately

IGLA is an anti theft immobilization device that is installed inside of an existing harness somewhere in the vehicle and blocks all attempts to start it without authorization, either by a 3-20 button pin code you choose or an encrypted Bluetooth fob. It has key protections too that block the ability to pull the necessary pin code used to delete and make new key fobs until you authorize the system and then place into service mode.

Just one AirTag??

Aside from IGLA, I have an AirTag in my glovebox that’s super easy to find, and a second one that’s attached to the undercarriage of the truck.

good call - i'm going to go do that right now.

did you use a magnet sleeve from amazon or something

i also believe if the son of a bitch that steals your truck also has an iphone, they get a warning or something that an airtag is near them.... not sure if thats true.

Exactly. There are several options for AirTag mounting that can withstand the elements.

Yes, if an AirTag is found moving with you (that’s not yours) your iPhone will alert you, but that’s why I have one that’s meant to be found, and another that would take having to crawl underneath the truck with a flashlight not knowing where to even start.

Just curious - i don't know much on this subject..

How are thieves getting into a locked trx and just driving off without a key?

are they using a flatbed or do they have some sort of fake key?
