I sent a complaint on the forum DM to Ramcares about my dealer insisting I purchase engine oil and filters from them every 5,000 kilometers, costing me $280 each time. To my surprise, instead of addressing my concern, they simply recommended using 0W-20 for my car!

unfortunately dealers are independently owned and operated. If they make a big enough issue stellantis can step in. Generally speaking though it has to meet one of two criteria.
1. An egregious or illegal act
2. Gains enough publicity, so they step in to save face (similar to the dealer selling the demon 170 out from under that service member)

In your case why don’t you just do the oil change yourself?
I understand that dealer may then say they won’t perform any warranty work on the vehicle, to be honest it sounds like they would be horrible to deal with under any circumstances.

Anything done to the car including the service should be in the dealership or the warranty will be voided

Common misconception that an entire warranty can be voided.
If you miss an oil change they could say something about engine but can’t say that the suspension part is void.
Not sure on the international warranty rules, but in the states you are able to perform your own maintenance as long as you have records of it being done (receipts, etc)
If something happens it is a bit more of a pain to go through at times but for some very worth it.
Sucks that you have to deal with a crap dealer, that also looks like it’s your only choice.

You are absolutely right but have you noticed that ramcares recommended me with the wrong oil spec and provided me with wrong manual, in the TRX forum 😂😂

I do oil changes every 3000-5000 miles and change the filter.

I may be wrong and need to be corrected, but the only issue I see here is there appears to be an upcharge. $280 is expensive. Maybe the upcharge is because Kuwaiti dudes are swimming in money.

There are both wealthy and average-income individuals, but $280 for 5,000 kilos is steep compared to other dealerships like Land Rover, BMW, and even Porsche, ford chargers exactly 25% of what ram charges . The main issue is that Ramcares provided me with the wrong oil specification for our vehicles and insisted they were correct.

Not too surprising. I’d be concerned that the servicing dealers are just as careless & clueless as Ram Cares. 0w20 would be a death sentence in your climate. Even 0w40 is sub-optimal. Especially at $280 for Pennzoil.

Mobil 1 5w50 is available pretty much everywhere, it’s not overpriced and it’ll protect way better in the desert heat. Probably what I’d go for in your shoes but it’s unfortunate you have to choose between protecting the warranty and protecting the engine. Actually not too much different from here in the States but I digress…

I change my own oil, I change it every 4K miles, it costs about $100. dollars per change. OW-40.
