I thought it would interesting to discuss the different types of materials the TRX uses and in what capacity. With all the knowledge on the forum, I thought it would be an interesting topic. If not, it can just naturally float to the bottom! To get started:

  • Hood - Aluminum
  • Tailgate - Aluminum
  • Front Fenders - Fiberglass
  • Engine Block - Cast Iron
  • Cylinder Heads - Aluminum
  • Upper and lower control arms - Aluminum
  • Rock Rails - Steel
  • Bed Sides - Steel
  • Valves - Sodium filled
Does anyone know what parts are real leather on the interior and what might be fake?

What is the bed made of? Is it fiberglass like the front fenders?

What are the rear fenders? If they are both fiberglass I won’t feel as bad cutting them to fit 37’s

Anyone who has taken delivery willing to take a magnet to the rear fenders and report back?

Isn’t aluminum non-magnetic?

Yes lol, guess it would narrow it to 2 materials, but I think the assumption was they were not aluminum. I found it, they are steel, I will edit the first post along with a few other additions.

Wait. Saw your update. I thought the actual bed was fiberglass?

Bed sides or rear fenders, what ever you want to call them, as well at the actual bed are both steel.
