Has anyone been able to get an accurate insurance quote for the TRX yet?

Even though I have my VIN my insurance agent is stating that their insurance vehicle database is not updated yet for the TRX so they can’t give me an accurate quote yet.

They told me the best they could do is quote based off of the MSRP. We also quoted a Ford raptor and jeep grand Cherokee track hawk, with the idea that the TRX is some hybrid of the two and some cents from insurance perspective.

Curious to see if others are running into the same issue or not?

Attempted to get a quote weeks ago when I received my VIN and was told the same by my agent. VIN not in the system yet. He didn't even know what a TRX was haha

What were the “comparable quotes”?

I gave USAA a pre production vin and was given a rate of 150 a month for full coverage with a 19000 miles a year policy
Awesome, looks like you got better response than anyone else

To be honest I don’t have the premiums off the top of my head, but the MSRP quote was by far the highest and the track hawk was the next highest. If I recall my notes correctly the MSRP quote raised my current insurance by about 40 bucks a month.

If I remember correctly and the raptor was about the same as what I’m currently paying now so no change at all my monthly perspective. And I think the track hawk was about 25 bucks more per month.

My insurance quoted me $4 a month less than my 2010 RAM 1500

For both the TRX and 2018 DSRT USAA quoted me $759.92 for six month policy.

Not bad at all
My insurance quoted my wife’s x3 m40i the same as any other x3. Right now it looks similar for TRX. It pulled up a 1500 when I entered the vin but didn’t differentiate between TRX and and other trim.

My guy ran my Vin when I first was issued it and he also ran it the other day and gave him the same price as my Laramie. I guess we’ll wait to see if that changes once it’s delivered

I don't have any quotes to share as I was told the same thing by my agent. There was another post here, or maybe on the hellcat forums that said the first year release for the hellcats, redeyes, demons, etc seen the insurance rates at nearly identical rates as the top tier challenger/charger and then rates adjusted when the second year came out and the insurance companies had historical data to base the quotes on. So I am prepared for rates to go up after the first year if that holds true with the TRX as well.

I just finished texting my agent now and my vin showed up in their system with all the options that I have and it’s an identical rate to my Laramie But it definitely might change after the second year when all the data comes in

Hey it’s mostly us on the forum. No accidents or tickets guys and gals!!! Good luck, we’re all counting on you.

I'm going from a '18 Charger Hellcat to a TRX...think insurance will go up or down?

For what it's worth, State Farm told me (after talking to two different agents) that the majority of cost of insurance has to do with the value of the vehicle. Although the VIN database does not reflect TRX information, they also both told me that using the value of the vehicle will get them within $10+/- of an accurate estimate.

These quotes you guys are giving seem crazy high to me, Maybe I actually am saving a ton on my car insurance because I bundle it with a bunch of rental properties or you guys have got caught with some crazy speeding tickets or accidents. But I've never got a speeding ticket (thank you AL Priority jammer/detector) never been in an accident (knock on wood) and with State Farm my full coverage with a $500 deductible on my 2019 1500 limited is $311/year and my wifes 2018 SRT Durango is $318/year and my 2016 hellcat challenger that I don't have anymore was only $119/year but I had collector car insurance on that that limited it to 3k miles per year
