Trim issues?

Been covered in snow and cant get her home to really inspect for all the little issues everyone keeps finding. But I do have issues with the steering wheel trim. Is everyone’s like this? Looks like part is peeling because it’s raised as compared to the fabric. And the fact that there's a sharp edge to the plastic is frustrating. Just doesn't seem finished right. Is this how it should be? (sorry for the poor pictures, hard to capture the sharp edge/gap)

I feel like it should not have a sharp edge though....
 
It should have a sharp edge. CF is a very rigid material and this seems pretty characteristic - not the separating part but the edge lol

Do you have any experience with real carbon fiber?

I noticed the same thing on my steering wheel, it doesn't seem like the fitment is correct.
