Technical Service Bulletins

I would like to see what they say .
I just got off the phone with a dealer here in metro Detroit. The dealer advised me that Chrysler has these kits blocked off until October which means they can’t order them until then. Curious to see what others find out from their dealers as well.

There has to be someone out there who can duplicate these kits in the aftermarket world and not depend on these people. Calling dealers is like slowly self inserting a splinter in between your nails.

DRIVE LINE CLUNK UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Case Number:S2121000015 REV. BRelease

Date:July 2022
Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Drive line Clunk When Stopping Or Upon Take Off Launch Immediately After A Stop
Customer Complaint/Technician Observation: Owner complains of a drive line clunk."Customer reports a clunk from while coming to stop, the transmission is in a coast down shift to stop, or when just starting to tip into throttle to launch after a momentary stop." Clunk can be mistaken for Transmission down shift anomaly also; this can be verified by manual shift control (paddle control during coast down to 2nd gear to verify not transmission related). Discussion: If the concern described above has been identified, it is a condition that has been investigated by engineering; the recommended service repair actionavailable is currently service kit P/N–68597433AA; requires a VOR order. Proceed only if part number on driveshaft label is 53011135AC, 53011135AD, or 53011135AEKit includes:-1 Boot-2 Clamps-1 tube of grease, to be added to the propshaft internal splines. -8 bolts (Front and Rear prop shaft secure) -Instruction sheet. Note: Grease included in the kit is special formulation unique for TRX propshaft.

NOTE: I checked on the availability of part number 68597433AA. It is currently listed as "CAMPAIGN PART NOT YET AVAILABLE, EXP - OCT 01, 2022" I see inventory out in the field for it but its at a very low level. They may be stocking up to be ready.

I took my truck in today for the clunk. They verified that it is covered under the latest star bulletin (ref the axle number series) and test drove to check it. They are telling me they will have the parts in about 2 weeks so we shall see.

Speaking to local Idaho owners!

Since the parts are not yet available and we the dealers would hopefully be the first to know when they are. I am starting a list of local owners that would like me to call when parts are available. To keep this organized and streamlined please send an email to [email protected] if you are local in Idaho and want to use our dealership for the repair.

@RamCares Thank you for posting this information, communication on these types of issues is much appreciated. I took mine into the dealer today and they were aware of the bulletin and quite helpful.

Any idea on how long before these parts are available to the dealers? Estimates have ranged from 2 weeks to 8 weeks before available.

Thanks

NHTSB will have them posted. It’s a clunky way of looking them up but they’re on there
You would like to think Ram Care would have them posted, honestly I’ve never looked

Here you go, input all the data of your pick up truck into the program and it has everything from service schedules to service locations, if your car is locked or not and on and on

I have that app, but I don't see where it shows TSB's. Maybe I'm missing something?

I just looked through it and it is way way thorough and if you click on related documents it lays out in very clear form what problems are and how to get the results, I’m glad you asked me about this I didn’t know it existed

repairs at this time, the field will be notified when updates become available.
My new 2023 does this, is there a fix?

Do a search regarding driveline clunk as there is a ton of info on this issue. Bottom line there are bandaids but no permanent fix by Ram yet.

Thanks much
Ram will have the dealer put new lube kit on the driveshaft splines which will fix it for awhile. After it comes back they will authorize a new driveshaft which makes it go away again. My clunk is still gone but it hasn't been long since they replaced the driveshaft. Others on this forum had driveshaft replaced and it eventually returned. This is my only complaint with the truck but even with the clunk it is an awesome vehicle.

Check out posts by AZDinoPwr and OnTheReel who are both very knowledgeable on this subject and have some solid thoughts on this topic. There are some others on here that are quite knowledgeable regarding this, but those two come to mind.
