I have driven Raptors and since they have an open rear differential, it is very easy to break the tire loose on the street. Particularly when accelerating and turning. Yes, you can electronically lock the rear, but that is not suited for street driving. Since the TRX will share the same config (open rear, electronically lockable) and way more power, I am thinking the TRX will be a real handful to drive, particularly on wet roads. I currently live in Las Vegas, but used to live in Seattle. I can't imagine having one there. And while the TRX uses computers to attempt to simulate a limited slip oh the front diff, there is nothing on the rear.

Thoughts?

I think the Transfer Case is AWD, but the rear differential is still open.

Even in sport mode, you have 30/70 power split. Snow mode shifts to 45/55. So in sport, if people manage the throttle properly, or just put into snow in wet/snow conditions, I think they'll be fine.

I think this will be fun regardless

Considering you have been seeing a lot of these launch in the dirt, I don't think traction will be a big problem...Can't wait to find out myself!

is your x5 an sdrive or xdrive?

i had an 16 that was xdrive, 50i tuned lowered big braked GTHaus exhaust and faster then an x5m.... that was never a handful on daily wet florida roads
i had a hellcat on nitto Drag radials NT555 and that was never a handful as a daily driver in the daily florida downpours.

know yourself, know your limits, and know your vehicle...

my powerwagon can break her 37s loose with any amount of throttle with a little morning dew.(everyday is damn right)

AWD launch on wet roads
Michelin Pilot super sports
BMS tune
about 4.5 0-60 consistent in a large SUV

so this is about equal performance on wet surfaces with the supposed TRX thats being built.

you will be able to hooligan at max power all day long....thats why im buying this god forsaken factory male enhancer
when i tell you i will bring the mexico content...i mean it.

Thanks. Mine is a XDrive. Fantastic in any weather, as you know. Yup, know yourself, know your vehicle. I prefer vehicles that work for me, not the other way.

4matic
Quattro
Xdrive
Subaru symmetrical All-wheel drive
and the TRX

these vehicles with their respective full time awd systems, whether they are an a3 audi, E class Merc, X5 BMW, Forester, or a 6.2 supercharged tank are superior to any counterpart in the same clothing without the full time 4

dont get me wrong- bmw COBB 335i RWD, HC Charger , and my JKU wranglers all needed to be what they needed to be.
you cant beat rwd for many pucker factor activities and i know im even going to miss swinging around my powerwagons backside in a too tight uturn

I currently have a gen 2 Raptor and I love putting it in Sport mode and 4 auto. It has plenty of traction, even in the rain. TRX will be full time 4 auto default. Just saves me a step.
