Stellantis possibly bringing back the 5.7 Hemi and the Hellcat!

Can't speak when they will release, but we have known they crated up these engines that were in development. All they have to do is unbox them and start where they left off. Suppose to be moving production to the US and out of mexico.

They have to have something. Ev ain't it. And the hurricane is a 6 cylinder. And nows there's less epa and smog crap to worry about. Should be nice, whatever they release. Who knows, maybe something to mess with the c8 zr1

Unbelievable that in a few weeks of a new administration some common sense is coming back. All these automakers who bought in to these EV mandates are now realizing they made huge mistakes. Hard to believe these big execs thought they could make money by forcing a product that nobody wants. Any leadership that went for this should be fired. They were promised huge gov subsidies but any one with any business sense should have saw this coming. Thank god Tavares is gone and as the new CEO stated recently, V8 is no longer a bad word.

Well, the execs did make money personally. Blackrock and the other hedge funds that own most of their shares gave them bonuses to push this BS.

Great developments on the V8 front. Now they have to make it to 2026. They have hell to pay for so many bad decisions. Good luck selling I6TTs until the V8s arrive. Then there is a process of rebuilding customer confidence that will hang over the brand from melting Hurricane catalytic converters. Engine reliability problems are the worst. Just ask Toyota.

Isn’t the guy running DOGE in our current administration one of the Pioneers of EVs? If any incentives are going away, it’s a strategic move for Billionaire Musk.

They were getting paid to lay waste to the economy. Corporate vandalism essentially. Good to see it is ending for now.

I am just going to keep building my 2023. Not buying a new one until the wheels come flying off mine.

This forum seems heavily anti-EV. Odd. I love performance and have both a 2023 TRX and a 2023 Mach E GT Performance Edition. The GT is amazing for in-town driving and the TRX is amazing for road trips, camping, and all sorts of other stuff. Why can't we have the best of both worlds?

We can.

Yes we can. EVs are cool and a Tesla plaid will probably beat the doors of a Trx. But don’t shove them down our throats or make laws/costs that force manufactures to abandon V8s. Let consumers have a choice. Infrastructure is terrible for EVs and they are powered by coal. EVs aren’t much better off than our gas guzzling V8s

I personally don’t like ev’s because me, wife, and one of our kids was constantly getting nauseous when we had the new bmw ix as a service rental

I do also not like the fake green image they try pushing for them. Yes lower tailpipe emissions but lithium mines…. Battery refinement process, and then the eventual waste.

They are great cars for some people, but don’t force it as if it’s the perfect solution and the best thing ever.

No one made me buy my Mach E. That was my choice. And I might be rare, but I have solar panels on my house and charge my vehicle mostly for free (90% is excess solar generation after my home batteries recharge). Let's be very clear, anyone that gets into a EV needs to educate themselves. Home charger will save you money. If you can have only one vehicle, gas or hybrid, do not get an EV.

100% this. For the right use cases, they make sense.

One more point, the depreciation of EVs is horrible. I got mine knowing its a 10+ year vehicle so IDGAF about that.

That’s great! You definitely understand and are using an EV technology in the best way possible then. And I forgot about the lithium mining that louk mentioned. Absolutely terrible. It is just the argument for EVs that is messed up then legislation forcing companies like Stellantis to stop making V8s because they are too expensive to make due to taxing

We should all have a choice. That is my point. I don't know a single person ever that was forced to buy an EV. However, the manufactures of cars should have the best of both worlds, offer awesome EVs and V8s. Let the consumer decide, not politicians. Mining anything costs energy and pollution. Oil, gold, silver, lithium, etc.

I just looked at the specs of the BMW:

TRX is faster and more power across the board and better 0-60 times unless it was a M60 version comparing 0-60. Just an interesting observation of your experience. However, the instant torque can be difficult to adjust to. I have a lot of gear head friends that have never been in an EV before. Now that would be an interesting poll of this forum. Who has ever been in an EV?

I rented a Tesla Model Y Performance in Maui last summer on vacation. That thing has no business being that fast while making literally zero noise. Shit is wild. I just didn't dig the interior quality of materials and the stupid glass roof. Those seats get COOKIN when parked in direct sunlight.
