Steering mode selection in auto drive mode, what do you use?

Hello Fellow TRXers,

I personally find the sport setting steering to be very heavy feeling (by design I’m sure) and the street to be a bit heavy as well for daily driving. I find the rock setting to be more comfortable for my own personal preference for daily driving just curious how others feel about the steering settings on our trucks? On the street steering setting with the truck sitting still it’s a bit harder to turn the wheel than I feel it should be, Like backing out of a parking spot and turning again to go straight.

My default setting is everything is in “Auto” but the suspension in “Baja.”

I actually prefer the sport steering setting as I feel it gives better feedback

Have you tried the “rock” setting? It softens the steering up quite a bit.

I hate driving in auto mode in general. It’s too sluggish. I also find sport steering too stiff so I have only been using street. Will check out rock but I don’t think street is stiff at all.

You’re right - tried it today while out running errands and it does make the steering softer yet- Thanks !

Normally street but I find myself moving to rock for normal driving. Street feels a little heavier than I want sometimes

I use street. I hate how tight sport mode is. I hate it so much if I want sport mode. I go to my custom mode that I have set up almost similar to sport mode just to not have the wrestle the steering around. Also if I'm at a light and someone feels foggy. It's only one click away.
You all got me thinking about this rock mode tho. Gotta try it now.

LOVE rock steering mode. I'm excited to try setting the suspension to BAJA to see how that interacts with the steering as previously mentioned.

My custom mode is everything in Sport except steering, which is in Default/Street.

Yes, It seems to be the lightest of the three settings

sport mode of the transmission is different than sport for steering which is the topic here. I agree sport mode for the transmission can hold gears too long but auto mode is way to sluggish. I wonder how baja mode compares to sport mode.

Baja holds gears longer than sport.

well that sucks. I have heard that the pedal programmers help bridge the gap between auto and sport.
