Hello, is there anything I can do to the rear end to keep it from squatting when it’s hooked up to a trailer? It only squats slightly… airbags? Can I not mess with the suspension?

Thank you

Steve

Less tongue weight or try these. You would need a small lift in the front then too most likely.

I dont think you will get away from too much squatting otherwise.

I just installed on mine along with Hellwig sway bar. Nice setup for towing.

Great company if you decide to go the bags route.
Just talked to the owner and ordered it, thank you!!

You'll love it! I've been towing daily with my trx and timbergrove bags for over 2 years now and it's amazing.
how much weight do you typically tow? Tongue and gross weight roughly?

Two full size motorcycles and maybe a tool chest in the front I assume that’s about 500 pounds, but the bike stay over the wheels and like I mentioned, it doesn’t squat too much but I didn’t have the toolbox in at that point. I assume it’s gonna quite a bit more.

Not exactly sure to be honest but my larger 7x14 double axle trailer is always loaded with an eavestrough machine, coils, ladders, tools etc and it tows great.

Airbags will do the trick. Just and FYI, if you have an aftermarket exhaust system like mine the bags might not fit. They often change the stock exhaust pathing maybe to improve airflow. I had to cut and reweld my system to clear the bags on the passanger side. Nothing to worry about if you're running stock exhaust

To avoid having to readjust the headlights and get the best possible handling, a good weight distributing hitch is the answer.

If having the tow vehicle more level is the only concern, air springs will do the job.

Very interested in the Timber Grove product. Can anyone comment on what a practical driveway installation of these airbags is like? And for those who have ordered these parts, how many days did it take to receive product? I will be hauling and towing next week Thursday and it would be awesome to get this installed before road tripping.

Others can give TRX specific feedback. I installed a set on a previous Ram, and only complaint was the airline felt a bit cheap. Everything else was top notch. I believe they've improved the line since I got my set many years ago.

Step one is the best low distributing hitch you can afford. For my research and having towed with it for a few years, weigh safe has been great. It will easily raise the rear end 3 to 6 inches from the height of using a regular hitch. But it’s not enough to completely eliminate squat, that is depending how big a trailer you’re pulling. I pull a 10,000 pound enclosed trailer with about a 2000 pound tongue weight. Timbergrove airbags will take care of the rest to level it out once it’s hooked up and the hitch is adjusted properly. I don’t like how the truck rides with the airbags when you’re not hauling, but after two years I’ve gotten used to it. They do significantly reduce the suspension travel so no more jumping railroad tracks, etc. But they are removable, with hand tools from lying under the truck, but it is more of a pain in the ass than it seems like it should be.

I just came here to verbally assault someone who I though had squatted a TRX, carry on…
