So just when I think I understand the FCA ordering process they switch it up. I placed a sold order December 7, 2020. The order was accepted December 8, 2020. Last week the dealer calls me and says hey I have good and bad news. The good news is FCA picked up the “Dealer Stock” order and it’s in D status. Bad news my “Sold Order” is still in BG status. More bad news is their “Dealer Stock” does not have the color or options I wanted. I thought once an order went to D status you could not change anything.

Well somehow they reworked the “Dealer Stock” order to match my order so I now have a “Dealer Stock” “Sold Order” with a VIN and a D status. Not complaining, happy to move to D status from BG status. Just thought it would be important to share they can change everything on an order to include the color while in D status. They had no problem modifying the options for the order until they got to the color. That took a several days to get the color change to take effect and be confirmed.

Edge of my seat waiting to move from D to D1.

It is hard to follow the rhyme and reason for how things actually get done. Rarely do we as the end consumer really know the truth. I think most times the sales people we get to talk to do not really know either and just make it up to work with their understanding and what their customer wants to hear. Nonetheless, D1 status is a great thing. You are moving forward.

I took over a dealer order and converted it to a sold order on an LE but i really dont think that makes any difference......

I agree about the sales guys not always knowing. I’m not so,sure they get much more information than we do. Not all their fault either at least for some of them. Then on the other hand I have seen a few salesmen that did not know anything because they really did not care about being informed.
