Remove Speed Limiter??

My 2 cents! My 22
PCM unlocked ...
Sport mode suspension.
Factory tires.
The truck was handling perfect no issues. Yes I was on straight road and no I would not want to try to make a turn at that speed.
Truck was pulling strong and I was going for 150 but my 360 escort went off so I slow down. This was in 50 degree weather and only a short distance. I was very impressed on how well the truck handle. I have a 24 now and I will be unlocking the PCM soon.
Got to love the T Rex right!!!
So how did you get your PCM unlocked? I hit my limiter at least twice a month on high speed passes around here. A real PIA.

Sir,
I took the truck to a mopar speed shop in Ft Worth Texas. The tech took my stock PCM and gave it to me
I purchased another one from the shop and the tech unlock it and installed a hp tune on it.
It work great. Then about a year later I sold the truck at which time I reinstall the factory one back on and the truck was back stock and the speed limiter was back at 118. I took a Pic of the speedo and then clear off 147mph.
Truck ran perfect. Cost
$ 400 for pcm
$300 for the hp tune.
I love that truck!

I assume you are taking about "Bailey's" in FT Worth? I think I'll contact them and see if they are still doing the "fix". It's only about a 3 hour drive for me.
:) Thanks

Car Guy Hello.
No sir the speed shop I used back then went out of business but the tech that did the work there now works in another speed shop . His name is Tanner. I have his cell number. I will call him and get back with you . I do not want to give you the wrong information. Tanner is very good and knowledgeable on the mopar trucks and cars.
Get back with you later today sir .

I edited your post to remove the phone number. Send that to people via PM. Not on a public forum that spammers and bots scan every minute of every day. I’m sure Tanner would appreciate not getting robocalls for the rest of his life.

Oh OK 👍 thanks

put yo shit on 30's and you can get up to 185!!!

Zauto has a new device that is plug and play. Removes the speed limiter among other things (like blocking RF hub programming). But be forewarned, it’s apparently as glitchy as the Tazer.

The "initial" things that "bug" me is (1) the poor instructions. Seem it could very easily be made a bit clearer. And (2) why in the hell do we need to modify the connector on a 2022+ truck. Seems they could sell/provide an adapter easy enough for a professional fit. DUMB ! Anyway, the price is cheap enough and "if it work as advertised" it is something I've been looking for.

Oh, and how do you know it's apparently as glitchy as the Tazer?

Thanks

This was shared with me.

^^^^ Thanks.

I don't care about MDS or fuel management, just the speed limiter. So if that works (and doesn't screw up something else) I should be okay with it. I like the idea of not having to reprogram anything or cut/splice wires or "marry the system". Just a couple plugs to get their device "in -line" and done. Looks pretty easy to do and undo and leave no traces. (So they say)

Agreed. But if the MDS override is glitchy, then I suspect the rest is as well. And like other things from Zauto, I'd be careful relying on it as an anti-theft thing (since it locks the RF Hub). It's plug and play, so thieves can just unplug it and keep going.

Understand/agree, and I've already got the anti-theft stuff covered to my satisfaction. Again, just looking for the speed limiter bypass.

I can see it now.

Going to pass someone, confident that I can be back in the lane before the upcoming turn now that I can go 130 or 140...only to have the speed limiter kick in at 118.

Probably want to test it "several times" before trying such passes. :) Actually I've found 118 to be adequate for most all passes...

What pisses me off is to have some $30k Japanese (or America) shit box pass me while my TRX is artificially pegged cruising down the highway while the engine has a ton more to go but can't be tapped.

Yes, that how is I really feel about it.
