Ravelco Saves The Day

You may be correct on your assumption but literally nobody knows about the “enhancement” they are doing so that isn’t even part of the conversation. If they openly advertised it and contacted each and every customer past and present and said “we have a major flaw in our wire setup and this update is critical, when can I schedule this totally free update” then the “enhancement” would be in the mix. Unfortunately it is not so his and my statement still stands. He is referring to ravelco, the openly advertised ravelco. Not the behind the scenes lets keep this hush add on so they don’t get sued. Not trying to argue just stating the facts.
Enjoy the rest of your night/morning.
Josh
If he's replying to me then he should have read what I said. I've been pretty clear what I'm talking about. Enhancement was brought up multiple times. If he's not speaking in reference to what I have said then don't @ me.
You too.

I will say my call with Ravelco the other day was kind of sketchy . I think the $200 "upgrade" with no disclosure of what's being done is dogshit. I also find it odd that we have to track them down. Why would they not reach out to their customers if they're aware of a bypass issue? I'd have no clue if it weren't for this thread. One could argue cost, but this "service call" is a money grab for them (it's a quarter of the full install price!)

I was then asked to defend them on the forums. The gentlemen also claimed he knows how to bypass IGLA, but they won't stoop to the level of posting a vid. Sprinkle in some us against the Russians shit and it made for a weird ass business call.

And that's all I have to say about that...

Ahh good ol’ chuck came up with that “we can bypass IGLA but we won’t” tactic. They are down over 20% in sales this year and are trying to pay for the 12,400sqft house they now live in. I will have my hands on this “enhancement” soon enough.

Congrats on the win OP.

Just my 2cents, I had Revelco for the first 2years, but after watching that bypass video, I went straight to IGLA, compustar, and drone mobile. Cost 4 times as much, but I sleep soundly.

I do have a question and concern, you mentioned you got this upgrade, enhancement or whatever they are calling it. Did they actually do anything or just take your money. I am not stirring the pot, I am genuinely curious because someone I know called a higher volume ravelco dealer who knew nothing about it and thus called the owner himself who said he had no clue what he was talking about, none have been stolen so why would they add anything. Either the other installers know its bypassed very easily and fast and decided to mask the ground with a resistor or they are blowing smoke and taking peoples money. You can private message if you prefer. I can’t get my hands on something that Jimmy himselF said doesn’t exist.

The lady I spoke to at Ravelco was Samantha. The truck was in the shop getting some work done at the time so the installer did a callout to there. I wasn't there to watch the whole time but he did something. He spent a few hours under the hood. He mentioned it was taking longer than usual because I had a distrubution plate from NHOverland for my aux switches and Switchpros blocking where he needed to get to.

Ok, let me dig further. I have a feeling I know what they did or are attempting to do and seems like the ravelvo headquarters and owner himself are unaware. The installers know it is easily bypassed (have confirmed by multiple sources and seen the conversations but of course the main individuals will not openly confirm due to legal ramifications.) It is probably just a few bigger installers adding this to keep them installing and give a false sense of security yet again.
Thanks
Josh

I will be the first to admit, I am an asshole, hard pill to swallow but won’t lie to you, Ravelco on the other hand is outright ridiculous. Apparently its fake, can’t be done, staged, blah blah blah.
Apparently you got nothing done because it can’t be bypassed.
🤦‍♂️

Lol 🫠. I have the receipt lying around somewhere. I remember it being California Ravelco. I don't know if that makes a difference

Apparently it is being done by rogue dealers who know it is bypassed and are trying to save their jobs. If you want to get it replaced for an IGLA message me, I will make it worth it or can walk you through a few tests, again, will pay you for your time. You can say no, its totally fine. I just want to prove to ravelco it is actually being done snd the reason why.

Thanks! I already have an IGLA though. I have both systems. Rebate? Lol.

Happy to help. What do you need from me?

Damn…didn’t mean to start a shit show. Just saying I have a Ravelco and my truck didn’t get stolen by shit bag thieves that knew the process of stealing a TRX… obviously, by busting out the rear passenger window and being prepared in a densely populated neighborhood. Then some dude says, “ Glad your FOB still works”….hahaha…my FOB is in a box when I’m not in the truck. Actually think my shock sensor sent them off more quickly than anticipated, but I was not home. Then to show their defeat by putting the cover of the plug in on the Ravelco input and not taking anything from inside the truck. Win….then to have cats immediately have a reply and say it is an obsolete system and can be bypassed in SIXTY SECONDS is interesting…..
Isn’t it funny when the Ravelco people just sit back and watch this and don’t say anything?
Interested into how many of Ravelco equipped TRX’s have been stolen without a dumb ass leaving the plug in the vehicle?

I'm a little lost on this one. Maybe too much turkey and I'm not reading right. There was a "dust cover" over the Ravelco plug? The would be thieves pulled the dust cover off but failed to bypass it. Maybe thats when shock sensor was triggered. Then they kindly put the cover back over the plug before making their way on to the next victim? If that's the case how do you know the cover was ever taken off? I'm glad the truck wasn't taken like the rest. I'm just a little confused about the chain of events 🤷‍♂️.

His comment is geared towards “I have ravelco, they tried and failed and kindly replaced the cap on it. No trx’s have been stolen that didn’t leave the cap in” or atleast thats how it reads even though one was bypassed and stolen on camera. Odd really… with all the bad press ravelco gets nobody in their right mind will come here and say “I have (had) ravelco and they bypassed and stole it even though hundreds of posts warned me, videos warned me and my own conscious warned me” but hey, what do I know, according to the hilarious emails from them, we faked those videos and the “enhancement” isn’t being done. Of course I replied and laughed at their fix that makes it easier and faster to bypass. 😭😭😭

Not your fault...

Then some dude says, “ Glad your FOB still works”….hahaha…my FOB is in a box when I’m not in the truck.
Has nothing to do with it. The fact that your fob still works means the thieves didn't get far enough to erase the existing keys in your RF Hub, which Ravelco can do nothing to prevent. Hence the "glad your fob still works". But read on...

Actually think my shock sensor sent them off more quickly than anticipated, but I was not home.
THIS is why nothing got erased, why your fob still works, and at least partly why your truck is still with you (though these thieves sound dumb enough whereby Ravelco would have prevented them from starting it even once they programmed a new key)

Then to show their defeat by putting the cover of the plug in on the Ravelco input and not taking anything from inside the truck.
Yeah... I'm thinking not. I think you LEFT the cover on the receptacle (the PLUG is what you remove and put on your keyring). The reason nothing inside was touched is because they never GOT all the way inside. Breaking the rear glass would most likely not set off a shock sensor (assuming you mean an Add-a-shock sensor, the one you strap underneath your instrument panel, and wire into the door ajar switch). BUT - once they started shimmying their way through the window, that was enough to trip the shock sensor, and they hauled ass out of there. Unless you want to amend your story with evidence that they were actually inside the cab (headlight switch pulled off, CAN bus hub hanging out of the dash, infotainment screen pulled off, etc.)
