I've had my TRX down there several times. I've never had issues but you just have to be smart and respectful.

No way to avoid all trouble but if you look for it, you'll absolutely find it.

I was thinking of doing it next year, they tried to get coverage of the class throughout the race which was nice

Speaking of the NORRA 1000…I would like to make all TRX owners aware, this race is is a life changer and the Safari class is absolutely the way to go. I was the only TRX in sea of Raptors, and, by the way we had no problem seeing even the most tricked out ones in the rear view mirror .

Back to Safari, this is not a race class but more of a way to run the same roads as the racers but you also stop and get tacos and beers along the way as well as stop to check out some the missions and iconic sites as you work your down Baja. There are all kinds of street legal vehicles in this class from Manx buggies to tricked out broncos. The group splits up in to fast med and slow. So there’s something for everyone. This was my 3rd 1000 in Safari and the first time I’ve taken the TRX. It was to say the least a luxury ride compared to my other car IG #baywatchchenowth. Take a look there to see more Baja pics and vids. If you’re on the fence about Baja, don’t be!!! This is what these trucks are made for!! You meet some of the greatest people, and it’s a party all the way down!!

You're making me even more jealous. My surroundings are more akin to the videos Full Throttle Rick posts, with mud and rocks and trees. That kind of stuff is for my ATV. I'd love to take my truck out in the open spaces and let her loose.

You're making me even more jealous. My surroundings are more akin to the videos Full Throttle Rick posts, with mud and rocks and trees. That kind of stuff is for my ATV. I'd love to take my truck out in the open spaces and let her loose.

Similar situation here. In Idaho its all about high torque slow motion. I usually travel between 1-15 mph in the back country on heavily rutted and rocky roads with steep elevation changes that make the jeeps crawl. Then there is the "Treated" back roads which are actually washboard roads that make you float when you hit 60mph. Still love it!

They break the race into rally style, this time it was 6 days. You cross the finish line every day and they hand you a beer at the finish. There is some required tracker and nav items. (You can see the Stella tracker in one of the picks) I have a chase crew buddies they follow us down in my 02 excursion with back up supplies beer and tequila. You don't really need a chase, a lot vehicles go without. You need a way to get the truck back home. Most people drive back others will trailer it depending. Just look up the NORRA web site. It’s all there

Yes its an ADD stealth bumper, but i fabbed a light bar/brush guard that bolts on to it

Did they enforce the 60mph speed limit during the trip? I was down there in March and our group averaged quite a bit faster than that.

Yes, there are lots of areas where they allow you to go faster
