PPF Anyone?

Sorry, between 4000-6000USD. Full body with Hexis Bodyfence

I'll be doing a full clear wrap with ceramic coat on top of that. Plus window tint.

What's the consensus on the best one. Xpel, suntek, 3M?

They r all about the same quality wise... however the darker colors tend to show better with suntek and the lighter colors with xpel according to my guy... he does both. I cant offer u any real world comparison experience as I only have one vehicle covered in suntek (deeper maroonish red)

Yeah I was leaning toward xpel stealth, but just wanted to do my due diligence before dropping that much on it.

I jump to ceramic coating on everything and have only had one issue with the wife’s Rover but she tailgates like a..... yep. A few chips that we had the deałership fix but everything else deflects off. I’d like to see a side by side study of impact resistance. The ceramic just looks so good.

I'm thinking about doing the ceramic as well here in Denver, Colorado. What kind of questions should I ask when doing research to determine which place will do the best job?

Never done the ceramic coating before and want to make sure I get a little educated before I take to the first person willing to do it.

Ceramic does nothing for chip protection. Zero. It's there to make cleaning easier and shine. The PPF on the other hand does actually provide paint protection. Loads of missed I information out there, by design it seems unfortunately

I used a local aviation guy that came highly referred. So many people recommended him that there was no reason to go elsewhere. It was going to be $1,500 a vehicle but we did a bulk thing with multiple vehicles. I hit tree branches repeatedly with my boat and can’t believe it doesn’t scratch the fiberglass. It takes him two full days to do one typical vehicle and the bottle of ceramic is tiny. Sorry that isn’t much help but the guy now details our stuff and the finish is amazing.

Quick question, is the PPF something that can be done after a couple years or is it much better to do it right out of the gate? It would be nice to let the wallet recover a little before dropping another 5K into it.

You can do it whenever.... but the goal is to protect pristine paint. There is the risk of rock chip repair etc in the interim you'd have to repair, but definitely not the end of the world.

I was thinking the same; but, am seriously considering putting down ~$5k less, and getting PPF straight away. Like rayncassidy mentioned, it'll save you from having to get any repairs, paint correction, etc. done before applying the film. And, also, I'd be curious if there's a bit of a discount seeing as there would be a lot less prep involved. But, I don't know for certain.

My advice on ceramic is to do it day one....I will drive my truck from the dealer to my ceramic guy...

The less prep or correction they have to do the better....and cheaper....

I have been getting pricing on XPEL full truck PPF on all paint and powder coated black bumper if they can get it to stick. Also having the lights covered as well. Price to be just under $5,000. XPEL fusion plus ceramic over the PPF $1200. XPEL XR tint all windows and including front windshield and full sunroof for a price of $700. These prices are only for doing it all and are about 20-25% off regular prices in order so they can video and use on website. If you are in the Dallas, Tx send me a private message with your number and I will give you a call back. Still trying to get with corporate to see it we can get a straight countrywide forum discount.

I'd be curious to know if they're willing to work something out for the forum. I'm located in NorCal

I will have to get ahold of XPEL national headquarters to find out. If not once I have mine done and get the work order I can email it out to forum members and they can take that to XPEL installers in their area to get them to price match.

Thought this was a good overview.
