Possibly the coolest and easiest dash cam install ever

My rear cam catches all the best shots of the kiddos reactions from the dumb shit that happens up front lol. Xmas iHop pickup + Tazer 2wd mode + Rain = fun

Then the front shots of the wife when the 6yr old revs it up unexpectedly are priceless and blackmail haha

Thanks again @HorsePowerObsessed I woulda never had these memories but for ur vid!

I just dont understand why these car companies can't figure out how to build an app for the cameras that are already included on their vehicles. Sell a subscription service to record over the built in LTE and bam.
Probably but that also increases installation difficulty to the point that most wouldn't be interested. At the end of the day, this company as with any company, wants this to be easy for the end user and as far as the front facing camera is concerned, it really doesn't get any easier than this.
Any videos on the rear mount? i've ordered my set and waiting for it to arrive but there are no videos on the rear mount and the manufacturer didnt have much materials on it.

You are on to something :)
Id gladly have an OEM over getting an aftermarket product....not sure either why dash cams are not standard in cars nowadays

So if you scroll back a page or so.. I was asking questions about a bullet type mount rear cam.... No one responded, So I hit up FitcamX (which was an exhausting 30+ chat exchange)

As far as I can tell... They only produce 2 different rear cams... The 360 degree swivel mount that comes with our front/rear order... Which I couldn't make work in the spot I picked (the knockout panel on the bumper.. for lowering the spare)
And the other type, which after an exhausting amount of chatting, they finally sent me for $35 (including shipping)

I thought I could mount it in that knockout plate... but it ended up being about 3-4mm's to wide.... So I mounted it under my hitch.

I'm thrilled with the results... You really can't even see it, unless your crouched low near the bumper...

The following pics are:

1. The different style camera from Fitcamx
2. Picture of it mounted.
3. A Screenshot off my iphone, from Viddure..... The SS isn't super clear, but the actual video is crystal clear!

If anyone has any questions on how I ran it.... Hit me up.

It's so much better than my Thinkware rear cam, that was mounted in the rear window.. and was mostly catching my tonneau cover.
I'm very interested in this, but I had a few questions I was hoping you could help out with.

Is the "different style camera from Fitcamx" made for exterior use (weatherproofing)?
What method did you use to run the cable into the cab and all the way to the front camera?
Do you have part numbers or links to the items you used, for instance the extended cable and different style camera?

I just bought an extension cable on Amazon. Link here: CABLE EXTENSION

Just contact FitcamX and show them the picture I posted, they only have 2 types.

I punched a hole through a plastic grommet under the rear passenger seat, and routed it underneath the bed.

No idea on how weatherproof it is, But we've had some nasty rain the last 10 months here, and it's holding up fine.
