I just order myself one, pretty impressed with reviews from a local neighborhood watch page on Facebook where it helped apprehend some people who broke into a car and apparently stole mail from everyone's mail box on the block.

They had no idea how to use the camera but they stole it, turned it on and right away the owner was texted pictures / videos of them...Works similar to a Nest camera if you have one.

Now that there is pretty funny, 🤣

Was looking at their site but couldn't find an answer ...

Does this have GPS tracking, either internal or the LTE?

And is it also logging vehicle data from the OBD port or just power?

Best information I can find on GPS. Based on that I would assume it's providing LTE GPS data everytime it sends its update

Hmm thanks.

I was thinking about it but between the high cost of the camera itself and $367 a year for two cameras subscriptions, the pricing is ridiculous to me.

I have one of these https://us.thinkware.com/product-page/q800pro/ that was on the raptor that uses the wifi from one’s phone, and I was super happy with it. The only issue is that it’s a pita to instal every time, so I was looking for something easier. This owlcam could have been it but for the pricing.

Best part is that OWL provides a free replacement upon theft so a win-win scenario for the owner.

That's another good one but it sounds like it has the same issue as my Nextbase. For me, providing me the install alerts that the vehicle was impacted or break attempted is a huge factor.

I do agree the cost is pretty high. I bought one plus the subscription to test it out on my Rebel. My truck sits outside in not such a safe area so it'll be a worthwhile investment.

I wouldn't doubt Amazon or Google will eventually buy their company and pair it with their existing offerings. I would be thrilled if they paired it with the Nest platform as I already have a handful of those cameras around the exterior of the house under one monthly subscription fee compared to Nest's previously subscription fee per a camera.

That sounds about right. I think I paid $19.99 with a month free trial.

Yeah lets just say they are facing more than vehicle theft and there's no way they are getting off clean lol

The monthly plan is for the cellular service..... Which gives you the live connectivity from your phone and the alerts...

Correct. Just installed it today. Liking it thus far. Will put it through a long road trip test this week. Happy Holidays to you all!

Do you happen to have photos of the OwlCam installed in your TRX? Can't find that anywhere. I bought one and I am taking delivery of my LE supposedly this weekend.

I ended up buying one. There's really nothing to it, you just plug into the port, tuck in the wire, and use the biggest attachment to mount it to the windshield. I don't have the truck here but I'll post pics of it when I get it back.

I've been on the fence for some time. Looking forward to hear what you guys think. My truck sticks out like a sore thumb now so I'm concerned about it parked at sketchy boat ramps for long periods.

Yeah... I was more worried about the cam sticking out like a sore thumb on dash, but your rig is killer. When I had one installed in my wife's Audi it just made the view out the windshield weird and she made me remove it. So screw it I'll repurpose for TRX

Exactly what I did too. I have it in my Rebel for now. I have it sitting almost in the center.
