I own a 2020 Raptor but am wanting to try the TRX with that beast motor. My local dealer who I’ve bought many vehicles from caorder me one for much below MSRP but he is saying around 4-5 months for delivery possibly.
Should I order a 21 now or just wait for 22? Any possible ideas when the 22 might come out?
Also any opinions from previous gen 2 raptor owners would be awesome.

@KnightMare has stated that the MY22 production will start sometime around July 22, 2021 or soon thereafter.

I’ve had a two raptors loved them both. Always thought the ride, stance, appearance etc was awesome. I just got my Trx two weeks ago. It’s waaaayyyy better than the raptor. Sounds better, faster, rides better, interior is far superior, better in every way. If I has one complaint and not really a complaint just a heads up is that it is really big...much larger than raptor. Sits higher etc. feels wider too but I’m not sure if it actually is. As far as ordering goes i would do it sooner than later. Never know when the plugs gets pulled on the hellcat motor.

I had previously talked with my dealer about a 22 model if the 21 would be delayed past March. Looks like I may see one at the end of March. If I get a 21 model I will trade it or sell it outright for a 22 when they hit the streets. I already asked my sales guy to make sure I am on the list early this go around not that it helped those that ordered the 21 model early. Hopefully all the product and quality issues will be worked out by then.

Even if you ordered now you may not get one till 22’s are out so at this point in the game I’d wait it out.

I was considering this as well and ordered yesterday. Between the vague INFO ON 22'S, SRT disbanding, and the Uconnect 5.0 roll out, I decided now is better. Not really concerned about color options as I'll be wrapping my truck anyway.

I'm betting the 22 is tuned down from current year.

At this point, I think I would wait, just to see what FORD does. If they do it, they are going to try an shoot TRX into the ground with engine, exterior and interior. Otherwise, why do it?

if for nothing else, for the new color options and maybe a Final Edition model, which hopefully they will be truly unique color, special options, unique rims, & more HP.

I had a 2017 Raptor and then had the 2019 Raptor. I picked up my TRX last week. The TRX is truly awesome. I think all of the issues you see people having can be resolved by having your own guy thoroughly inspect it at the dealer. The TRX engine and interior blow the Raptor away. There is simply zero comparison, and for me, interior refinement is a big deal. Just love that aspect of the TRX. As for size, I honestly don't notice a difference, and I do a lot of city driving and have a very tight garage. Seems to fit pretty much same as Raptor. As for ride, I think there are two sides. In high speed performance handling, I think the TRX is great. However, in terms of driving around the City and absorbing potholes and speedbumps, I think my Raptor was noticeably better. I'm not sure why this is, but I drive the same streets and hit the same potholes every day, and I just feel everything more in the TRX. Lastly, the TRX range is very poor compared to my raptor. I wish they had put a bigger tank in it.

If the above positives of the TRX outweigh the negatives and you can get below MSRP, I would definitely order TRX now. What's the downside? Lose a nominal deposit? Unlikely, and I bet they would let you roll it to a 22' if that was your choice. No point in holding out for Raptor unless you are ok with the V6. The Raptor V8 is likely at least a year and a half away from being delivered.

Ford.....

The same company that put the Ecoboost pushed to it's max in one of the Most aero advanced cars of all time and Call it a "supercar". No disrespect to the user here with one, it's a sore subject for many that understand.

There's not enough plastic in this world for Ford to throw in it's vehicles to surpass what SRT/FCA has done with the TRX.

Seriously, no one's going with "order it now and it's still likely you won' get it to 2022"? Seemed like the obvious joke here.

Yours in bitterly waiting for his truck,
SJB

(PS - this is just humor. Lot more people with a lot worse waits than me.)

Highly doubt performance will be "turned down". On what facts are you basing this statment? I'll wait...
