I have read a few posts of people experiencing a dead or bad battery from the factory, would like to avoid the issue or any chance. I was looking at swapping mine out, I have service at the dealer next week so they can recalibrate the suspension for me while there. Is Optima yellowtop a good choice or is there another battery people would recommend? I see diehard has an AGM platinum battery? Just wondering what you folks are replacing with with all the electronics in these trucks. Thanks for any input!

I have used Optima Red tops in all my cars for years. The one in my Jeep laster 12 years and was still working when I replaced it. While I think they are worth the extra money, I will let the factory battery die before I replace it with an Optima.

The only option I see is the yellow top for our trucks? I just kind of want the piece of mind that its not one of the shit batteries people seem to get once in a while haha. Don't want to be stuck some place with a 5 year old and a screaming 2 year old...

I replaced my factory battery with the Optima yellow top.
I believe it to be a superior battery to all others on the market.
The quality and durability are well proven!

Yellow is Optima's Deep Cycle variant.

I would put in an Odyssey Extreme. Used them for years. haven't had a fallure yet. I believe it to be a superior battery to the Optima. It will deep cycle and start. Its like a red top and yellow top in one.

Actually looks like they may not make an extreme for our trucks. The Oddysey performance is still good. Personally i will probably go that route when it comes time to replace.

Yeah I didn't see an option for them when I looked up Oddysey, I'll check them out again. Thank you. Was going between them and the Optima battery. Wasn't sure if guys had experiences good or bad with either. Thanks.

The Diehard Platinum AGM used to be made by Odyssey. I don't know if that's still the case but they used to be great batteries. I ran those in our wake boat for years that had a lot of stereo equipment in it. The specs on the Diehard were identical to the Odyssey batteries, wouldn't doubt they were made on the same line and they just put a different case on them.

Optima yellow tops are a mix of deep cycle and starting, I used them in my diesel for years.

Been wondering the same too. Anyone run those anti gravity batteries?

I saw the Diehard one as well. Seems to be comparable to the Yellow top Optima as far as Specs...

Similar question, was looking at an odyssey for my challenger, the factory battery is not an AGM and sux. Heard optima is now shit, not made in USA, but seemingly mixed reviews.

I always bought interstate but appears based on what ive read, everyone prefers odyssey when possible.

I was just going to get the Optima until I started seeing some recent reviews of the quality going down lately so I wasn't sure if guys had some experiences to share before I purchase..

Yea same. Diehard seems to still be good. Didn’t realize they were bought by advance auto, Johnson controls make them.

Probably going to grab an odyssey, everyone seems to say that are the top now optima is made in Mexico, after JCI bought them, they took a shit it appears.

I think the blue is the deep cycle. Yellow is more dual purpose, starting/deep cycle. Good for winching though👍🏻
Yellow is deep cycle (rated for more deep discharges/recharges). Red is for starting (not to be deep cycled - wants to be recharged after starting - but puts out higher CCA than the equivalent yellow top). Blue is marine grade (more resistant to salt water environments), and comes in both varieties: dark gray case is for starting, light gray case is for deep cycling.

The new OrangeTop batteries are lithium-based (smaller batteries - meant for motorcycles, quads, etc. Biggest one is 8AH. Not a consideration for our trucks).

This is why I am on this forum. All y'all are smarter than my dumb ass🤣.

So what should I get for an extra battery just for an amp on my golf cart.

Yeah I may compare the odyssey and diehard now, not sure if the Optima is as good as it was then...
