Theoretically. Still a very long road for them to attribute a failure to a good quality “uncertified” oil like Amsoil or Red Line because it just ain’t gonna be the reason something lets go. It’s also a long road to fight them on it, so I understand people wanting to play it safe and use PUP. If so, I think it’s prudent to be very conservative on intervals for reasons I’ve gotten into before on the forum. Reasons that are readily apparent in my own and any other UOA of the product.
Personally I care less about protecting the warranty, and more about protecting the engine. So I use what gives me the best results based on my samples. Still refining and experimenting a bit, but right now Red Line HP and a Fram Ultra or Amsoil EA is probably gonna be the tops.
