I have an oil leak from what I know to be the oil cooler feed lines. I’m not sure if it’s missing a clip of some kind or not. It’s leaking from the circled spot in the attached picture. Hopefully it just needs to be tightened but it’s a difficult spot to get to. Thanks for the knowledge ahead of time.

You can see the retaining clip that keeps it from popping out in the pic. It should also have the plastic safety sleeve on it like the one on the right however, that plastic sleeve has no affect on it leaking or not and is just a redundant feature. It is probably just pushed up further on the hose. There is 3 scenarios off the top of my head, either the $5 fitting is a tiny bit loose, or the seal in the fitting is bad or defective and or the line itself has a defect preventing it from sealing. Hopefully its just that cheap fitting and its a quick fix. Cheers 🍻

Kind of what I was thinking. You the man!

Been a few trucks with fitting not all the way tight. Go to the dealer and have them check the rest of the chassis. Too many trucks rolling around with loose components. What vin is this?

This blew off of mine, get it fixed ASAP. Engineering/QA needs to see and fix this problem. They will be swapping entire motors here soon. If mine goes again it won't have oil left in it when towed.

@Nitro @KnightMare Until Ram checks these, we should add a sticky section for what to check. This oil cooler line (under passenger side engine).

It's obviously not enough at first for the FCA QA or the dealer to catch, but will leak or let go at some point. It's an immediate pull over and call roadside issue.

I don’t understand. Multiple people are having problems with oil leaks from the same area and @RamCares can’t address them or let us (people awaiting their trx) know it’s going to be fixed on ours. They can do better than this. First step: admitting there is a problem.

Dealers just fixing and RAM Engineering/QA not making this a plant bulletin will be a problem

Hello @Krankin450r, we can see why this would be concerning. We recommend bringing this to the attention of your dealer - please keep in mind that our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support through that process. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Update on my “Oil Leak” issue on my 2021 TREX. I took it to the dealer today after reviewing the forums and they found that the leak, on mine, was not coming from the oil cooler or fittings but the “Engine Oil Temp Sensor” which is right above the Oil Cooler. You can see it’s Red Cap in my photos. Apparently it was loose causing oil to drip down onto the Oil Cooler thus appearing to be leaking there. I recommend all owners keep any eye on all of those pieces for potential problems. Especially, after long hauls, excessive loads or use. We’ll see where this goes but I hope it fixes the problem.

I noticed that my oil cooler lines were wet during my PDI after I got my truck home. It didn’t appear to be an active leak. There was not dripping on components above or beneath these two connectors. I slide the retaining sleeves off, wiped down the entire area, and reinstalled the sleeves. 800 miles later, and a handful of launches later, all is still clean and dry. Mine appeared to have been wet from assembly, or everything seated during the break-in process. Love this truck.

Love this Truck as well. They are Beasts! Mine ended up not being the cooler lines; but the oil temp sensor right above it that wasn’t as tight as it should be and was leaking down onto the oil cooler lines. Dealer replaced sensor and tightened as required. No more issues.

Nothing on or around my sensor, and no other wetness over past 800 miles.
