New Updated MOPAR Rear Driveshaft Info

I get quite a few questions about the new updated Mopar driveshaft so I thought I would finally make a video to explain it.
Thanks for posting this information and video.

Is the new part number for the driveshaft the "AF" version?

Mine is a 2022 and the dealer replaced my driveshaft with the "AF" part in Sept 2023 and it worked beautifully...for awhile. It has a bit over 4000 miles since it was installed and the clunk is now starting to return. The clunk is my only complaint with the truck and it does annoy me. I have not yet taken it back to the dealer and if the AF part number is their latest solution it doesn't seem like that is the permanent solution. I have seem some posts on here touting some aftermarket driveshafts that allegedly solve this issue.

Thanks again for sharing your expertise on this forum. By the way, the volume in your video seemed spot on.

My 23 with 25k miles has this part number and has had the clunk for a while now.

Add one?

We've been running the "AF" driveshaft for over 10k without clunk. It's also been out for like the entire year if memory serves lol

Glad yours is working for you since my AF wasn't the magic cure for me. Maybe the problem is I don't run mine like you do yours! 😂

Haha i cant imagine how that would help but maybe we blew the clunk right out of the water lolol

Does anyone know what was changed with the update?

SO is this a new one? , I had mine replaced twice and the last one was about 1 yr ago, actually kinda got used to the clunk( truck has 61k miles already) but would love to fix this ,before dropping $1,500 on another driveshaft( instead of using that money for go fast goodies :) )

Was your last replacement a Mopar driveshaft or an aftermarket driveshaft? I think (but not sure) the last Mopar driveshaft replacement is the "AF" model which only worked for about 4K miles for me. Someone else said the AF has worked for them for 10k miles now.

It was "mopar" through warranty, and like yours lasted about 4k miles before the "clunk" started.

You do get used to the clunk but when it's gone it sure is much nicer. Probably take mine back to the dealer after the first of the year to address it again.

I tried that but they told me it was already changed and that there was nothing else they could do, " they said they didn't feel it" and that it was "normal" :cautious:
