I ordered the truck in February, maybe it was March, whatever, but I didnt exactly have a plan or idea what I wanted to do with it so I was considering not picking it up.

I ended up deciding on using the truck for camping / overland excursions as well as towing. I have offroaded trucks before and my TRX was not something I was going to beat the shit out of, hence towing.

Anyway, here is my build.

ADD Stealth Fighter Front Bumper ( RIGID Pro Lights) (eta ?)
ADD Stealth Fighter Rear Bumper (RIGID Pro Lights) (eta ?)
CargoGlide CG1000 Bed Shelf (Next week!)
RSI Smartcap EVO Sport (ETA October)
RSI Smartcap Kitchen (ETA Now but useless without cap)
RSI Smartcap Roof Rails (ETA October)
Roofnest Falcon XL Rooftop Tent (ETA ?)
Roofnest Falcon XL Rooftop Rails (ETA ?)

for the falcon xl tent, the rooftop rails will be likely be used for my mountain bikes.

can't wait to share some photos as things progress.

Arent you worried having your bikes ontop of your camper?
I have hightower racks on my yakima bed rails on top of my retrax XR bedcover, and my bikes are almost too high.

even thinking about getting a forkmount instead, cause its a bit sketch when its hot or got one of superslack bikes on top.

the roofnest falcon xl with rails holds about 125lbs which is plenty for two bikes using the Thule bike mounts. I also have a Thule tow hitch two bike mount I can use when not towing. as far as height goes, i got a garmin 785 rv nagivation which will route you based upon height, width, length, and weight of the vehicle so not worried about height either.

My bumpers finally arrived. Pending install

What are your thoughts on build quality? I was thinking about ordering since they are running 10-12 weeks behind on production
It looks good so far. Only one small defect in the center of the front bumper that I am not too worried about. As far as build quality I was going to ask my installer after he was done. I don’t really know this stuff other than appearance

Here are some updated build photos

Cargo Glide powder coated my CG1000 in black. So much nicer looking than the aluminum silver finish that it normally comes imo.

It was an extra charge that I was happy to pay. I don't remember the amount.

As far as build quality, it’s pretty good in terms of alignment with the factory body panels. The finish is nice. My installer had a couple of hiccups that they were able to resolve.

The front bumper is advertised as a zero cuts factory bolt on bumper but 6 cuts in total were necessary to eliminate rubbing or improve overall aesthetics. First two photos show trim points.

Secondly, the rear bumper openings for the rear sensor are oval shaped and not water jet cut so the factory sensors need to be installed at a certain angle in order to function properly and be effectively glued in with silicone. Here are some photos. Last three photos show sensor mount points (rear only, front looks pretty good) and the second to the last photo is how the sensor mount point should have been cut so the factory sensors “snap in”.

Other than that, I am happy so far. I have only driven the truck five miles since the bumpers were installed to get it to another shop where they started installing the RSI SmartCap and related accessories.

Hoping to get the truck tomorrow to enjoy it a bit before she goes back under the knife.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

Oh also, my vehicle Instagram is reptartrx if you want photos in real time. I will absolutely continue to update here.

Here are some updated photos after picking the truck up last night. A quick write up on what has happened until I can go into more detail;

RSI SmartCap EVO + camp kitchen + roof rack + and table was added

CargoGlide CG1000 bed slide added (had it powder coated in black)

Evil Manufacturing custom fabricated a third brake light to get my rear view mirror camera system functional again and mounted it to the back of the smart cap. It has two Baja designs spot amber spots, brake lights, cargo lights, and of course the slot for my rear view mirror camera.

Pretty happy with how everything turned out but I need to figure out a solution for the RSI camp kitchen. The stove that folds out from the passenger side of the cap ends up sitting right on the passenger fender when out. It’s not much but I can see someone opening the stove two quickly and it denting that fender super easy. Also if you aren’t like 6’4+, you likely will need a stool like I do (I am 5’10) to properly use and see the stove. I should have guessed this would be the case on such a huge truck but it’s all good!

If you have any other questions send them over and I will try my best to answer.

Definitely like the look‼️ Does that smart cab come in black⁉️

It is black with a sort of matte finish. I will send a better day time photo so you can better see the contrast against granite.
