Anybody have any good aftermarket oils to help take care of the engine even more thank stock. I’ve seen some people have problems with transmission before 100k miles and I’m trying to avoid that. Currently have 30k and looking to totally change the transmission oil next time I change the oil. I’m in a very cold climate in the north east where temperatures get below 10 F in the winter, especially this month.
Just looking for transmission oil and motor oil to further the longevity of my TRX.

That's a loaded question but @OnTheReel can help you with that but here are some links to read over.

You could also try ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, or Google AI for any and all your questions.

If I had to condense my opinions into a few paragraphs…Definitely service the transmission ASAP. Don’t really care what product, just doing it at all and doing it regularly from here forward puts you way ahead of the game. It’s becoming a problem for sure.

Engine oil…if you’re going to stick with the OEM Pennzoil, cut the oil change interval in half at least. 6k is too long for any oil in this platform, let alone a mediocre product. If you want measurable improvements in wear control, moving to a higher end product like Red Line or Amsoil is worthwhile. Take samples along the way to see how things are working and if any changes should be made.

No reason these components can’t do 200k plus but it is going to take more care than the owners manual suggests. Unless you’re just really really lucky.

After reading a bunch on this forum. I’m going to redline 5w50 (warm climate in AZ). I would go with redline or amsoil from my research after you run out of warranty.

Not picking a fight, but there's a lot of marketing spend on oils these days. ;)

Independent tests, and real-world teardowns show mainstream synthetics like Pennzoil Platinum and Mobil 1 deliver excellent protection and cleanliness at standard intervals, often matching or exceeding premium boutique oils like Redline and Amsoil in everyday use. In fact, teardowns of high-mileage engines using Mobil 1 or Pennzoil reveal minimal wear and pristine internals after 30,000+ miles of towing/daily driving (debunking needs for pricier "ester-based" oils like Redline/Amsoil in non-racing applications). All brands meet API SQ/SP for modern engines, prioritizing OEM specs over brand hype.

My recommendation is to use any quality oil and change it on a regular basis if you rarely exceed 8/10ths driving. I use Pennzoil Platinum on my TRX, but I have used Redline and Amsoil, too (in some of my other cars). On that note, if you drive 10/10ths all the time... I'd use Redline (high ZDDP).

PUP is not even in the same ballpark as amsoil or some of the other better quality oils. Take a look at the results some of these guys post and see how fast it falls out of spec.
