Does anyone in the Midwest have or is soon getting a well-optioned silver TRX and wants black? It does not matter if it is used or incoming.

The black truck I ordered in November (685070) is supposed to be built on March 18 2021 and delivered sometime early April 2021. Located 45 min east of Chicago. It has the following options and a MSRP of $87,825.
-black w/ black wheels
-TR2 $7,920
-off-road running boards $1,195
-Harmon Kardon $1,195
-sunroof $1,495
-safety $995
-tech $1,095
-carbon fiber $1,295
-bed utility $845

I know this is a long shot, but let me know if anyone out there has a silver TRX and wants to trade for a black one in the next couple months. The dealer said he cannot modify my order because D1 status and I cannot cancel the order because I already traded in my truck for it. I am willing to pay the additional transaction costs, doc fees, and maybe some cash on top if someone wants to trade.

Message me if interested.

In the likely event that nobody wants to swap trucks (or future trucks), I will probably trade for a 2022 and take the depreciation/trade hit 8 months down the road.

Not being cheeky but can you explain how that's possible?

It's a very reasonable question.

PPF is much thicker than vinyl wrap, it is made of thermoplastic urethane and the top layer has elastomeric polymers which give it elasticity and 'self healing' properties, it protects agains natural and man made chemicals/corrosives. Vinyl wrap is basically a huge super thin decal for aesthetic reasons, a reversible way to change the color of the vehicle without doing a full repaint.

Will it give the paint a smidgen of extra protection? Yes. But nowhere near what PPF does, any sharp road debris will easily tear it and the paint will scratch as if it weren't there. There are companies that are coming out with colored PPF, but right now the choice of colors is very limited.

I actually have a car in my garage right now that's vinyl wrapped. It looks great, but it's basically a shiny piece of paper.

Vinyl wrap offers little to no paint protection.
My bigger point was that its going to be way easier, and make much more financial sense to just wrap it. Plus...It will add some protection. He could drive it through brush car washes and not scratch his paint, if only that big ass truck would fit through. But, looking to find someone willing to refinance his/her vehicle for his black one, makes zero sense.
