Well, tomorrow is my appointment for paint correction and ppf . So since I haven't washed the truck I couldn't sit still and decided to at least clean the wheels and windows.
I was looking over the truck and noticed leftover compound on the driver side bed rail. No big deal but pretty obvious if you look.

now that the little stuff Is over ..
While cleaning the wheels and fenders wells I noticed my rag came out black while cleaning the driver side front wheel. Immediately it brought back a memory from my 2019 charger hellcat that tore a boot. Sure enough I popped my head under the truck 😪

it's not a big deal but I wasn't to happy with how the dealership cleaned the grease last time . So this time I will make sure it's left looking new before picking up the truck. Minor set back

Thanks for sharing and appreciate your positive attitude in light of something that would frustrate most people and drive them nuts.

Let us know what the dealership says about the boot replacement and if they give you a hard time at all, hopefully it’s a quick repair!

Wow, already a boot replacement but simple fix. Did you guys bump anything on the road on the trip back?

The truck has warranty, no sense in getting all flustered. I'm healthy truck will be fixed..

Good on you for not being dismissive of your dirty Mitt. A lot of ppl would have assumed It was road dirt, brake dust, etc.

As for the torn boot, although disappointing, these things some times happen, unfortunately.
I'm more curious as to how it happened. Are you able to see exactly where the grease is escaping from? If you're unable to identify the leak before bringing it in for replacement, ask them to show you the boot once removed.
Note: I'm not telling you to. Lol

As for the compound, I would be annoyed. Actually, I am annoyed for you.
Do a good job or don't do it all.
Mistakes do genuinely happen, but it's not a mistake to not perform a post inspection. Had they inspected it, they would have identified the mistake and corrected it prior to delivering it to you.

Without request, my dealer waxed my TRX before I picked it up. They did so as a genuine courtesy, which was appreciated. However, it was my mistake for not instructing them to not do anything to the paint, as I had/have my own plans for it.

How many miles did it have when you picked it up? I would wonder if the dealer ship Joy road it, scratched it and try to compound the scratched out.. 🙄

If I remember from his video the truck had 11 miles upon delivery to the dealer, but when he took possession it was at 17ish uhmmm? And also when he went past the 500 mile point and launched it for the 1st time the g force meter was showing something like .75 side force uhmmmm ??? Sounds like the dealer needs a talking to...

The boot issue could of been from the transporter, compound most likely the dealer. Probably some kind of product to shine it up for delivery.

Ya cause I've always taken delivery of new cars all the time and never seen compound on a car or trunk and the when I get it it has 0 to 4 miles on if I remember correctly! This sounds like a YouTuber was tester 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

The goal is to Assemble 200 units per day let’s hope they’re just not slapping them together to meet that goal.

Don't see that happening as it's not like the 200 are being build separately. All go down the same line so at whatever pace that is, nothing really changes.

I doubt they did anything this guys seemed pretty straight forward.
they didn't even wash the truck since I told them I would be doing the paint protection. By far the best dealership experience for me. I was in and out in less than 10 min.

It had 11 miles on the paperwork but 15 miles when I picked it up. I didn't check the g meter prior to driving it for the 1st time, but I doubt they did anything malicious. It find it kinda high for left and right turn but I know those things are gimmicky. My 2019 charger hellcat had a best 0-60 as 1.9 sec while it sat on showroom floor.

Update** I reached out to my local dealer. The asked me for the vin to see of the axel is trx specific or off the shelf. They told me they will get back to me today. Fingers crossed 🤞

I have had compound from the factory before. Its disturbing but it is what it is.

That’s sounds ridiculous. I thought during the announcement of the TRX the talked about beefed up axles. Why wouldn’t they already know that.
