I'm not a Jeep guy but the 392 has caught my eye.

GF wants a Wrangler badly and I always say, "Great - YOU should buy it"

But since she's always bringing it up I've been checking out the wranglers with little interest but after reading about the 392 I'm intrigued. Seemed like it would be easier to mod for overlanding and such than the TRX. Not getting rid of the TRX - different beast and different goals. But a part of me is saying maybe I trade in the Ram 2500 and get the jeep as a 2nd car (and GF happy).

Would love to hear what people think of Wranglers and specifically, the 392....

I have a Hellcat swapped Wrangler. Its......fn amazing.

Wranglers are a hell of a toy!

What caught my eye was the outrageous MSRP....In addition, the 392 must add so much weight to front end of the JL it is ridiculous. Talk about serious nose dive when braking. If I had to select an engine, the 2.0 Turbo would be the way to go for me.

I have to imagine there maybe some cooling issues in the woods.
woods? nah, I daily drive this thing lol

no nose diving......even with upgraded brakes.

Wait wait wait! Are you doubting FCA’s superior engineering team? 😂😂😂
Ha, ha, ha....and the fact that the JEEP engineers have yet to solve the dreaded JL font windshield defrost F-up. Nothing like not being able to effectively defrost what must be considered the world's SMALLEST front windshield on any regular production vehicle on the planet which is forcing THEIR customers to fix the problem themselves....

I’ll carry a pack of windex wipes for the windshield and a gallon of water for the overheating

It will be probably closer to 77k with options. Had the 2 door in my Hard Rock Rubicon. Nice toy, but wanted something I could sleep in when I went cross country. The idea of 470HP in the short wheelbased 2 door puckers my butt. And yeah, at 72 I have earned the dad mobile status...to two German Shepherds!

A huge stash of cash for a Wrangler but hell, a factory-installed 392 V8 is incredible! Post pics when you get it for us!! Let me guess, you have a bumper sticker which says "My kids have 4 legs!" lol

Crazy what they were thinking. The baby TRX will be cheaper, more HP but cost less then the Wrangler 392???

I have a "Jeep problem" and stopped fighting it about a decade ago. 392 on order and will welcome the extra power. Live in the Midwest and enjoy Wranglers all 4 seasons of the year.

My wife ordered her Hydro Blue Rubicon 392 in December. Got a VIN this week. Still no price…but a VIN. 😜

Current Jeep!

The roll out for the Rubicon 392 has gone smother than the TRX. I ordered a 392 on 11/20 the first week you could order I think and it is built awaiting shipment. I ordered a TRX mid October and still have no build date. The baby TRX may cost less but who knows when you will get it. For me its not worth waiting for. The Jeep's smaller profile is what I need for my mission.

Love the 392! If I wasn't getting a TRX I would buy one for myself. Just placed a deposit for my dealer's last allocation yesterday. My father's 80th trip got cancelled due to covid so I thought I would suprise him with the 392. His current Saraha is mango tango so I went with snazeberry, he likes the candy colors.
