I realize this is a little like the mileage questions... if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. ?

but my question is more along the lines of this: is it possible the insurance could buy cheaper on the TRX than on the Trackhawk or Hellcat cars just because of the lower limited top speed?

When I checked on progressive it 2021 ram rebel 1500 v8 for regular prices

Theft/damage valuation will be higher. Typically if the vehicle-type isn’t known to be driven by pissed off teenagers, then rates aren’t that bad. Camaro is expensive to insure. Corvette Is cheap. Not many punk kids drive corvettes.

I was given a lower rate then the 2010 RAM I just sold with all the same coverage.

Not insurance related but had to go in a register another car lately and asked for a registration quote for the TRX. Based on MSRP they quoted me about $780.

I bought my 2016 1500 Sport, brand new in the Bay Area, CA. It was over $700 each year. I moved at the end of 2018. I now pay ~ $95/year.

Easiest way to drastically decrease your insurance rates is to increase your deductible, for instance on my $64k MSRP 19' Ram Limited my insurance went from $1,000 a year to $280 a year when I increased the deductible from $250 to $5,000...My reasoning for such a high deductible is I have been driving for 20 years without a single accident and with that rate deduction every 10 years or so I could have a claim and break even and if I were driving a car only worth $5k I would only have liability insurance on it so its the same as a $5k deductible...You don't have to go as crazy as a $5k deductible but just call up your agent and have them check what your rates are vs deductible changes and decide if thats something you want to do.

If past experience is worth anything, the very first to have theirs will get pretty good rates. It takes the insurance companies a bit to catch up. When I got my first hellcat and my demon, the insurance was cheaper than the regular SRT’s I traded in because they hadn’t caught up yet to what they were. Took them about a year to catch up!
