Alright so here is the deal from my perspective. I've owned a bunch of cars in the last 20 years so take my review in that context. I'm primarily comparing it to the Raptor but overall to what I've owned. I've had Gen 2 and 3 Sierra Denali, a few king ranch F150,Gen 1 and 2 Raptor, 2016 GT350, current Wrangler 4 door rubicon, TJ Rubicon, 1st Gen Ram 1500 Hemi,Tacoma TRD PRO, 4th gen Cummins 2500 Ram, Audi RS 5, Tesla X, C7 corvette, etc you get the idea.
EXTERIOR- Blew me away. From pics I didn't think I'd like it styling wise as much as the raptor. I was wrong. Its way better. The most shocking part is how much bigger it is than the Raptor. Especially the ass end. IE the rear quarter panels. Its also meaningfully taller than the raptor, I'm a short guy 5'7" and getting into Raptor was no problem, this thing a different story (running boards on order). So it is taller than Raptor in a noticable way. I can't stress enough how much bigger it is than Raptor both looking at it and driving. I've attached a few pics of some cool exterior stuff....what appears to be functional front vent in the front fender and a non functional vent in the rear quarter panel.
INTERIOR- fit and finish is top of class, top of market really. My wife's Tesla X is the only thing that comes close on interior (tesla still wins for their screen etc). Besides that nothing else in the segment or market even comes close. Ford is a distance second, GM is irrelevant at this point., toyota is stuck in 2003. The carbon fiber is really cool, the secondary glove box also awesome, and the t-Rex easter egg in the center console is fun. It also has the rear storage which is nice but hard to get too with the all weather floor mat. (a nit but FYI). My only complaint is I can't figure out how to turn off the rearview "tv" in the rearview mirror. But I'm chalking that up to user error. The sound system is great and the contrast with the red and black on the inside looks great.
DRIVING IMPRESSIONS: so first and foremost I drove it 20 miles today (had to work to pay for this damn thing) and did everything I could to follow the break in reccomendations. So I can't really give feedback on performance other than this: throttle response was instant. No lag like in my Raptor. SC whine is there but not obnoxious. Exhaust note driving like a grandma: you know its a high strung V8 but thats about it. I can just tell there's a lot there to be unleashed. Ride quality is the smoothest I've ever had on the road in any vehicle in any segment. Period. I loved how smooth my raptor was but this is next level. It's like comparing a 1979 F250 to a current Mercedes sedan. Frankly its shocking. I don't know WTF they did to this thing but it works. I took a peak at the suspension hardware etc and the basics are the same as Raptor but that's about all.....its so much better...don't know how but it is; probably the IRS in the back.
CONS: Not many. I kinda have to dig deep for things I don't like. Just being nitty but I liked the key pad door unlock thing on the ford which this doesnt't have. It feels so big driving it. I mean real big. The Raptor feels like a prius compared to this. I'm not complaining just full disclosure.
a few side notes: mine had 12 miles on it at delivery and took 12 days from window sticker. MPG- I don't care about it but at 55MPH flat florida roads I was getting 16MPG. If you have one on order without running boards do yourself a favor and get them. You'll need it.
Finally and most importantly please consider this. We are at the pinnacle of engineering for gas powered vehicles IMO. Especially trucks. If you want an absurd truck like this get it now; i fear it won't be long and you won't be able to. Pay the AMD if you need to but its worth it, so much fun.
