I have no ideas on this one. I got in the truck and drove 50 miles. When I get out, the fuel door cover is missing. I’m 99% it was there when I got in the truck because that sticks out like a sore thumb and I’m sure I would have noticed it before I took off.

Anyone know of a replacement part number?

Looks like it might be this but the image doesn’t quite look right:

And it doesn’t look like it comes painted so that will be fun.

That's messed up, it should take some real force to pop that off. Time for @BigRay to make up some carbon fiber ones maybe.

That sucks. Least you didn't drive off with the nozzle in there
That is the messed up thing. I last got fuel on Friday and drove around a bit afterwards and had no issues. No rhyme or reason that anything fuel door related would occur since it wasn’t like I just filled up or anything.

I did get on it pretty good when getting on the highway. Guess I blew my own (fuel) doors off.

I went to the dealer today and they confirmed that this issue is not covered under warranty. They offered to order the part and then send it out for paint after it arrived. They do not have paint capabilities in house apparently. I'm going to order the part online and then coordinate with my preferred paint shop. Probably be a better price that way anyway.

Damn these 1st world problems!!

I would have expected it to be covered under the 3 year/36k mile warranty. What was their reason for denial? Seems to be a petty clear cut case that the glue or fasteners failed which is an assembly or manufacturing error.

Dude said that things held on with glue or clips are not covered because they blame the owner for using power washers incorrectly and potentially loosening the glue or dislodging the clips.

Who uses a power washer to clean their truck? That's a lame ass excuse.

My bad.........pressure washer, not power washer. Either way, I agree that it is a lame excuse on RAM's part.

Yeah, I figured you meant pressure washer. Using a pressure washer to clean the wheels/tires and underbody is reasonable, but does anyone use a pressure washer to clean the body of the truck?

Doesn't EVERYONE use a pressure washer to clean their vehicle? There are entire businesses based on this:

Yeah, I get that but I was referring to guys on this forum with TRX's or other high end vehicles. I see Slivoman uses one on his truck, but I still can't think of a reason to use anything but a garden hose to rinse off my truck. I do use a touchless wash in the winter for my airport car, which definitely uses high pressure water and harsh soap to wash the body. However, I would never take my TRX or Porsche though any kind of automatic wash.

Google any high end detailer. They all use pressure washers. 40 degree tip and as long as you're not right on top of the paint its the only way to go. Especially if you have ceramic.

Do you guys that use pressure washers just foam your truck, then rinse with a pressure washer? No scrubbing?
