Upon our thorough engineering review, this brake kit is doable provided aftermarket 17" wheels requires NO smaller than the proposed, and still have a 3mm+ clearance both in wheel spokes and barrel:

Any discount for first buyer willing to test fit and post about it?

Is it the same pad shape as the 18” kit caliper?

Get involved!!! if 17" is your ideal wheels and this is the brake kit you have been looking for, contact your favorable wheel venders to have them check the templates, look over Method's wheel offer and pick the one you like...

And if you already have 17" wheel do help the community out while the reward is waiting for you to claim.
https://www.kmcwheels.com/kmc-mesa-...lsrc=aw.ds#596=3545&584=15428&563=68&587=5584 this is the wheel I’d run if the brakes work well with 17”. Wheel pros, who owns KMC, has a location in Irvine.

We are able to secure an 17" rim and run a wheel fitment test.
For initial test we didn't notice (nor expect) the hub opening was so much larger than the OE, so we "Hit the wall" without even touching the corner.

So we went back to our design data/3D to figure out where went wrong. As according to the design this kit not only requires less space axially but has a 40mm diameter reduction so by calculation there is no reason why this kit wouldn't fit 17" rim.

A closer and harder look discovered that this aftermarket rim (on right) has a much larger hub opening than stock (left).

So we have to compensate this extra large hub hole by adding a 15mm spacer like below:

Happy ending:

We shall receive prototype components early next week for this 17" brake kit when we will do another hard parts test and report back.

Does the rear setup actually require replacing to fit 17s?

Yes, the rear caliper bracket needs to be replaced to a shorter piece, and the rotor size will be downsized to 355mm (from 375) also but OE calipers and ePB are retained so your rear brake system integrity is retained.

This 17" kit will contain:

Front:
  • RB 4 piston calipers (Same as 18" kit)
  • RB 2 pc rotors (355x32mm vs. stock 378x30))
  • RB Pads (Same as 18" kit)
Rear:
  • OE calipers/Parking brake (Retained)
  • RB 2 pc rotors (355x24mm vs. stock 374x22)
  • 1 Pair caliper brackets (for downsize rotors)
  • OE Pads
At the end you will essentially be installing a brake setup that is considered as an "upgrade" version of Raptor's stock brakes of 350/348mm.

Note: The rotors although are downsized from stock but they are 2mm thicker (both front and rear) than OE with wider air gaps that can dissipate the heat quicker and much more efficiently than OE rotors so you can expect a lighter & more efficient brake system than OE yet still fits under 17" wheels.

PLEASE NOTE THE CALIPER OF THIS KIT HAS BEEN REPLACED/UPGRADED TO RB460 AS DETAILED HERE.

Good News!!!
Here are some pics for the real fitment test, we are glad to confirm for a clearance of 6.15mm to the wheel barrel, and a lot of room to spoke.
This test is based on Method's 17" while so the kit should also fit most of the aftermarket 17".

Front rotor (355x32mm) weight (19.2 vs. OE 32.2 lbs) saves 13 lbs per rotor.

Spent yesterday afternoon at RB Performance Brakes, let me tell Warren and his group are amazing people. And they have a lot of brake offerings from Jeeps to a Full Carbon Brake Packages For McLaren‘s. Warren is VERY knowledgeable and really understands our needs.
So now the best part, confirmed the 17” brake package will fit on the Innov8 wheels, in the pictures there is a 17” -12 offset 4.5 backspacing G4 Wheel. The boys at Innov8 were kind enough to let us borrow a wheel. This is going to be a game changer, they are still playing with brakes sizes but these brakes show are still larger than a stock Raptor. More details to follow!

Also note there 18” kit has been test fitted to work with the OEM factory Beadlock wheels with plenty of room to spare.

Thanks Warren for the lesson on brakes!

Thank you very much for your effort in helping out RB! Unfortunately, I'm on the other side of the country. Thanks to your fitment test, it looks like the 17" kit will be able to get away with the same calipers and pads as the 18" kit.

Your visit was most welcome and appreciated.

Yes, with the 17" wheel "INNOV8" you provided, we were able to adapt the same caliper (RB460) as the 18" kit yet still have ~6mm clearance which is the same as the original smaller caliper (RB4050) fitted under Method's 17".

Here are some pic./video to confirm the fitment:

Back - You can see how tight the space is between the rim and knuckle.

Although this kit may seem fit most 17" wheels but due to the variety of aftermarket brands/models, anyone interested in the kit should download the template to make sure you have enough clearance (3mm for street, 5mm for off-road is recommended) before purchase.

Same 355mm rotor but with a beefier & heavy duty RB460 caliper.
2705%2B460%20caliper.JPG

RB calipers are made with an "Internal" dust seals (Inside the caliper body) unlike "external" boots like OE Brembo and aftermarket venders, or some don't even provide.
Dust seals/boots are to protect caliper piston/oil seals from being attacked by foreign particles (water, moisture, dirt, derbies) and extend the caliper life.

We are well experienced in dealing with some Rally Racing teams in the east coast (When we located in New Jersey) who run modified STi and EVO as their race cars, and our brake kits were proven to perform exceedingly well over stock (Brembo) and other aftermarket kits, so we expect the same for the brake kits we offer for off-road applications like TRX or Raptor.

Love all this and have been waiting for an actual ligit kit to come out. I'm a little late to the game, did anyone mention the price of the kit?

There is a GB for you to sign up at discounted price.
Just go over the posts and you will be up to speed & well informed of what you are buying.
Any questions just ask.
  • Save confusions
  • Save weight (75 lbs for 4 corners)
  • Save $$$ compared to other kits

Prototype parts arrived, kit assembled - Ready for road test (Blessing for some dry days in Socal)
