For those with pulley and tune, would you do it again?

Looking into the next mod for the truck, was initially looking at bumpers and lights then settled on more power.

Already have AFE intake and SLP’s.

Looking to do a basic pulley and tune for 93.
Some of the packages offer t-stat and then injectors. Does it make that large of a difference? Don’t want to go too crazy just a nice bump with room to grow down the line if I decide to.
Looking at all the pulley sizes gets mind numbing after a while.
Which tune is everybody liking? Dusterhoff still a go to?
 
I went with a local shop did their 900hp package. Which included the following.

Tuning all done through HPTuners
ATI Performance 10% Overdriven Harmonic Balancer Pinned to the crankshaft
AAD Performance Anti Slip Idler pulley for additional supercharger belt wrap
Gates HD Green Belt
One step colder NGK spark plugs
160 degree thermostat
KOOKS 2" Headers that are Cerakoted with our additional heat management
Custom exhaust with “green cats”
1/2" supercharger spacer plates.

My buddy has a stock TRX and it’s a noticeable difference between the two. It’s not a cheap jump but it’s something that I’ve been happy with and would do it again.
 
I have a Dusterhoff flex tune, didn't do exactly their package. I mainly run e85 and the difference is very noticeable. I think the question is how far you want to take it? Would I do it again...yes.
 
For the time being I want to keep it fairly basic. No E85 strictly 93.

Don’t want to mess with the exhaust anymore, very happy with the current sound.

I know plenty of the kits say no tune necessary as well, so how much do you benefit from that?

Upper pulley, pinned stock lower for piece of mind, injectors, tstat and tune is all you need for pump gas. Pulley diameter is based on your altitude. 2.85 at close to sea level and can go a little smaller as you go up in altitude. That’s your best bang for the buck. Don’t need plugs, or idler adjustment pulley.

Seems like that’s pretty much exactly what the DT877 package is minus pinning the lower.

Yup. If you have e85 around you at all then I would recommend going flex or at least get the injectors big enough to support it in the future. Avoid having to redo that portion of tune which is the most expensive.

I still have to go get a hundred gallons of E85 about an hour away every month but the extra power is undoubtedly worth it.
Dusterhoff typically has the parts in stock ready to ship.

An 11 second truck with a loaded chase rack tends to be a pretty big surprise to all the raptors and cars who like to play games.
 
Even if you’re just looking for a 93 setup I highly recommend a tune. The transmission shifts feel a lot more positive.

So far so good. I’ve only done about 10 launches with the increased power. I do get front wheel hop as the front end unloads. This is an offroad truck not a racecar so I don’t plan to be launching often, but still wanted to get some data to compare.
The extra power offroad is nice. Being AWD all the time it helps rotate the nose into the corner a lot easier.

I would definitely tune
With me being on the 937 flex fuel kit, while I’m on 93 pump gas it is essentially the 877 setup. It’s a significant increase over an incognito pulley and intake.
Also @curtdusterhoff can work with you during the tuning phase to get you squared away with the max safe power for your conditions. I had him add some bottom end timing because I don’t ever let the truck push high load in a high gear.
Biggest thing I learned is to make sure they know what you’re looking for. Don’t expect them to tune the truck to your liking without your input.

Referencing our other conversation thread @AZDinoPwr. Thoughts on this package? See attached. Will be in San Antonio. Should I add or remove anything to this set up to increase reliability? Again, I’m thinking of a conservative tune but would like to get on it a few times a week.

Assuming this is a dedicated e85 build? If so, I would ditch the plugs and do an intake.
 
JMS performance if I go with their kit.

I'm also looking at FAS motorsports and would use JMS to install but i’d use FAS for remote tuning.

Personally I would stay away from FAS. Nothing but issues with them from the hellcat community. You can read for yourself on that forum.

JMS Racing is the shop that “scuba Steve” here on the forum used for his tuning/install and it was a joke. Actually probably the biggest joke of this forum since it was created. Got to the point that I messaged the shop to talk to them and they admitted their dyno isn’t accurate at all and that they remote tune on that dyno (don’t use their in house staff). There’s an entire thread on that on this forum including the screenshots from JMS. They are clueless. That set of parts for the package reaffirms that idea. Plugs are a waste and pushing well over 15 lbs on 93 octane is unwise. I would be genuinely surprised if they had any tuner that does flex tuning on MOPAR. I would ask them how they setup flex, inferred or sensor?

To my knowledge still only 4 tuners in the country that do flex tunes on hellcats. Barth, Satera, NicD and Dusterhoff.

If you really want JMS to turn the wrench then go for it but have Curt do the remote tuning then and get a good flex tune from him.
