So...our 3 year/36 BB warranty ends three years from the day you take delivery of your vehicle right? Apparently not! I picked my truck up June 4,2022 I have all paperwork with that date. Saturday I noticed the beginning of the infamous dash bubble.
I just got back from the dealer, when he plugged in the truck everything says warranty over June 1st. WTF! He explained "we have to put it through the system and see what they say. It might be covered under a goodwill repair but you will have to pay a certain %. It can be anywhere from 10 to 50%"

Has this happened to anyone else??
@RamCares can you please help me out on this one?

Warranty is from the date it was delivered to the dealership I think. It can sit on the lot for years and warranty will expire.

So if I went and bought a truck today that was on the lot for six months I only get two and a half year warranty? I did not know this.

Delivery date to customer. Not dealership.

We sold 3 model year old cars and the in service date was the sale date.

For three lousy days, they should have no hesitation in repairing/replacing at no cost! It's just smart business and a known issue. Let's see how smart they are or aren't.

I bought a new Challenger, paid for it, and took delivery 2 weeks later. The warranty start date is from the date paid. I suppose it’s because that’s when the dealer submitted it to Dodge. I assumed delivery but later found out I was wrong. Seems like the dealer could take care of a few days. Maybe they would like to sell you something again???

I didn't pay for it until june 4th when I picked it up. I bought out of state, but have used this dealership in the past for other vehicle service.

It’s still under warranty until June 4th. There should be no questions about that…unless it’s over 36K miles.

I am assuming you have a copy of your paperwork from when you purchased the vehicle, dated June 4? Show that to the dealership, and ask them how its out of warranty June 1 when the purchase date was June 4. @RamCares might be able to help.

The dealer called me back said , It went through the grid, they approved the repair. They want me to pay 20% of $3800. I have 60 days to decide...

I would still ask them why your truck's warranty expires 3 days before anniversary of purchase date, and show them your copy of the documentation with the dates on it.

Yes, I have everything single thing. I told him that, he said it doesn't matter. The tablet says June 1st and he showed it to me.

I’d tell them you screwed this up, you fix it!!!

I was quoted $2k for the dash and labor. Dropping it off next Tuesday while I'm out of town for that and for them to check the driveshaft clunk. My truck is a 2021 I bought second hand in August and at that time the basic warranty was already expired. I feared the dash would be $4-$5k but was pleasantly surprised.
