Picked up my truck yesterday with 11 miles on the odometer, had the dealer put it on the lift and inspected all the "common" problems people are seeing took it on a 30 mile test drive and put it back on the rack and I'm happy to say that everything seems to be in working order with no squeak or tick that others are having.......And like everyone else I must say pictures really don't do this truck justice, it is WAY more impressive in person.....

All that being said on my test drive driving around in the Midwest post snow slush salt disgusting mix for 30 miles when I got out the driver and front passenger door handles were COVERED is black icy salty dirty slush. I'm not the type of person that washes and waxes my daily driver every time it gets a spec of dirt on it, during the winter months I'll spray it down with a pressure washer so salt doesn't sit on it and i spray down the undercarriage with WD40 once a month to prevent rust. However, I now don't care how bad mud flaps look on the front fenders I need to find a solution to the door handles getting covered every time I drive it in the snow, in the mean time I threw some rags in the back seat door pocket so I can clean off the driver door handle before getting in so I don't get the salty slush all over my steering wheel and interior.

Very minor complaint considering some of the issues other owners are having, however if any of you plan on driving your TRX in the snow and are on the fence about getting mud flaps trust me order them ASAP

Congrats, yeah as much as I don’t like the look, mud flaps are probably in my trucks’ future. How did she drive?

I would love to have only slushy door handles but we don't get snow so I'm good.

But I like your process for delivery. Check it on the rack, drive it, and then recheck it on the rack. I'll be doing that method as well.

Congratulations, Brad! Glad you got your truck!

I am currently obeying the break in period suggestions so I can't comment on performance but I took it all around to various huge speedbumps and shitty railroad tracks that I had to slow down to under 20 mph for in my old truck and hit them at 35 mph and literally hardly noticed any shock......I took it around some winding 30 mph max speed corners at about 55 and it understeers quite a bit and there is a good amount of body roll as to be expected but it stayed very well planted and I definitely could have pushed it faster with no problem....

All in all I am very happy and as soon as some of this 37 inches of snow we have got in the last 2 weeks melts I'm going to be itching to get it off road. And 500 miles cant come fast enough so I can get into the throttle.

Congrats ! Any pictures? How's the ride compare to the Limited?

I 100% know what u mean with caked door handles. I’m in Pittsburgh and I have the same problem. I’m not a fan of mud flaps but I think I’m gonna need to get some too. Might just throw them on for winter and remove them in the summer.

Thats the only picture I took with all my excitment to drive it home.....I need to take some more when I get home

Absolutely awesome that you got your truck and that you are not experiencing any major concerns!

Drive safe and enjoy embracing the self control of obeying the break in period!

I should be hitting 500 miles on my truck this week and can’t wait to get into it and see what kind of power the truck has.

Congrats, happy to see you enjoying your truck. Thanks for the update on the overspray from the wheels.

Was that your trade in to the right? If so, I see that you didn't want the tow mirrors this time around.

Yes that was my trade. My only problem with my old truck was it made crazy loud wind noise at around 85 mph and when I took the service guy on a ride along to see if there was anything he could do to fix it he thought it was the tow mirrors that were causing the problem. I don't do a ton of towing and the fact the regular mirrors include a spotter mirror its good enough for me to not want to chance the tow mirrors actually being the noise problem.

Also when I ordered back in august they still hadn't made public that the 2021 models with tow mirrors can also have the 360 camera and if you selected it as an option on the build configurator it specifically said if you select tow mirrors it would delete the 360 camera

Quick question. Spraying WD-40 on the undercarriage once/month prevents rust? Do you have access to a vehicle lift in doing so?

Congrats Brad! I know you are excited! Interesting on the door handles.

Enjoy the heck out of it!

WD 40 is a water inhibitor and displacer. I have lived and driven in the midwest all of my life and every month from december to april I spray off the undercarriage with an attachment on wheels hooked to my pressure washer. Then jack it up slide under it on a creeper and spray it down with a can of WD 40 Big Blast. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes and most of that time is spent unrolling and rolling back up the hose. I've never even had surface rust form let alone actual penetrating rust on any vehicle frame I've owned.

Thank you for clarifying and the links to the products you use. I live outside of Philly, Pa and the local township is going ape s*** with road salt this season.

yea the only thing worse than cities using a TON of salt to melt the ice is cities who refuse to use salt and just use sand instead (iowa city iowa where I went to college does this)......Good luck keeping the rust of your truck, and if you have a few extra minutes and don't mind getting a little messy wd 40 works well

Agree. You think they are fixing our trucks or breaking more stuff? And at what point do they build a new truck? Praying we don’t become some of those forgotten 10 percent than still don’t have window stickers many weeks later.
