Final edition under sticker or Raptor R at sticker- thoughts?

TRX all the way. Personally, I've always preferred the bigger engines (ex 5.2 vs 6.2 in this case) even if the HP is the ~same. I guess it's a guy thing. :) I have only seen a couple of Raptor R's and raced one from ~60 to ~120. It was close but I beat him all the way.

After all is said and done, the Raptor R is still a FORD.
I hate Ford, and yes the R is unrefined etc vs the TRX...ya ya.. Did you know the guy and you're sure he was full hammer 60-120..both stock? I would fully expect the R, with equal drivers, to win this 9.5/10 times at a 60 roll...either way...well done!

Here's my take for what it's worth.🤷‍♂️
Fords are aluminum, which means they are very loud sounding when you drive them because they're thin.
The TRX is heavy yes, but solid, and quiet on the road compared to the Raptor. Yes I know what I'm talking about. 😁

Now the R is certainly a beast, but so is the TRX.

So if you want to drive around in a truck that has Beast qualities, (but is plasticy and noisy) the R will do that.

But if you want to drive around in a beast that's quiet and has a Mercedes style interior compared to a ford, well, then you know what you should do!

But as others have said you could buy the R for sticker, beat the hell out of it and then sell it to somebody else who likes plastic noisy vehicles, and buy a TRX, and own and enjoy the sound of a true Hemi Beast...👍🇺🇲

ps... I would wager good money that now that we have a president and not a pussy, we will see a new TRX by 2026, with somewhere around $800 HP... it's going to be a wild ride, yeah baby!🇺🇲

So brakes that simulate LSD that catch on fire are a huge advantage? I fail to see how that is an advantage. It works great until it doesn't. Great idea! 🤣
Is there a large number of Raptor brake fires I was unaware of? Or are you just making crap up? Please inform us

Did you see the video? I would have had a brake fire the way I was driving up the mountain switchbacks if I had that R. What is up with all the Ford fanboys on this site

Don’t get triggered. Just asking you to support your claims. I think you’re full of crap. No fanboy here. Just drove my TRX to work. Just calling out the BS.

Do you have a claim they don't start on fire? That video doesn't look good

Buy Raptor R, drive it for a bit, if you don't like it you can get out of it for likely almost no depreciation. Raptors are one of the slowest depreciating vehicles made. I drove 2 gen 2s 50-60K miles, then sold them for 5-7K less than I paid for them.

I'm glad you drive a TRX. Just thought it was funny people are posting about a "huge advantage" the R has with simulated LSD when they post a video of the brakes on fire. I made no claims. Just questioning this "huge advantage.". Brakes on fire in the mountain snow would be bad.

That video is nuts.

Yes. That would suck. It’s called an anecdote. There is no evidence that this is a widespread issue. You have a sounding board on a forum and are trying to say that the electronic braking LSD is a common source of fires.

No, didn't know him. The last I saw of him was in my rear-view mirror. :) I'm pretty sure he had his foot on the floor "too" since we were basically dead even until about 100 and then I started to pull away. By the time I was at 120 he was well behind me. Not sure when he let off or hit his speed limiter but he knew he was toast.

Raptor R limiter is 114, so it would make sense you'd pull away afterwords. That said, the R should beat the TRX in nearly any environment unless you get the jump.

I don't think anyone got the jump in this race. As I said it was dead even until 100+. Anyway, 60 to 100 goes pretty quick in both a TRX and Raptor R so who really knows when it's a race measured in inches and a few seconds.

For sure. Either way, we're blessed to have stupid trucks like this to drive.

I'll be able to give a direct comparison between my TRX, albeit on 37s, versus a 24 R in a couple of weeks as my 24 R just got delivered yesterday and will be back from PPF/tint next week.

You may want to check a few things like panel gaps in the interior and possibly other stuff that was listed in the Ford raptor R owners link I posted above. Make the dealer fix it if there any issues.

It’s a fact that the TRX, Raptor R and RHO all use the brakes to mimic LSD’s. The difference between these three trucks is that the R has it on all four wheels and not just the fronts. There is a great demonstrational video that BorgWarner put out a few years back about how the 8HP95 system works in the TRX, I tried to find it to post here but it was deleted from YouTube for some reason, maybe someone else could help find it. I think it’s probably cheaper to manufacture vehicles this way, and it also a great solution for increasing traction. The powertrain cost on these vehicles would be significantly higher if they had real LSD’s in the fronts and some crazy LSD that locked on demand in the back, not to mention this would cause the trucks to be less fuel efficient as well. Hard sell I think, considering everything. The benefits, well for starters, traction. Then, especially for people running more power than stock with a heavy foot, is the acceleration of uneven tire wear across the rear tires.

You might want to break-in the Raptor R first. :)
