I am a little concerned about how tight this will be fitting into my garage from a height perspective. Looks like the fin antenna has a few inches to it so I'm wondering if anyone knows of or have used any replacement antennas that have a lower profile. Any thoughts?

I was worried about the same and couldn’t find anything online that looked like it would work given the antenna is dual purpose. The lower profile seems to be sat radio only. I finally looked at the upfitter guide which had spec’ed drawings of all the other 1500’s and convinced myself 80.9” was to top of fin. My garage is 82.5”, so am hoping I’m good.

Can you pull it if you don’t care about getting normal radio? I never listen to fm anyway

H101 dimension matches published specs for 1500 normal and Rebel, and it shows top of fin in drawing.

I can assure you the measurements are from the ground to the top of the mast. My garage is 83 inches tall and I was sweating bullets, but all is well here in hail country.

It looks like this is a common issue for the HD folks with slide-in campers, as well. There are some threads on relocating the antenna (either to the hood or one had it on the dash), but not clear how to fill the hole left behind.

This one from 2015 has that you can plug a Sirius antenna into your radio (don't know whether that's still the case).

I'd also like to relocate the antenna...crazy that Ram decided to make the truck 2" taller than it had to be (and Ford did the same)!

I may do something. My front garage is so tight I must pull in forward as it keeps the back of the truck lower vs higher as the fin clears (actually it hits the rubber seal on the door frame).

So I found this. I am considering just moving mine inside on either a suction cup bracket on the rear window or do something like this guy did at the bottom. I think I could also get away with relocating to the cowl/wiper area.

Me too. Pretty sure the truck won't fit in my work garage, but haven't been there since last March (COVID) to confirm. Need to make sure without the antenna it would fit (or drive a different vehicle when we go back).

Anyone know if the wire is ran the same as a 4th Gen? IE is there a jumper connection in the passenger kick panel? https://www.truckcampermagazine.com.../shark-fin-sirius-antenna-relocation-for-ram/

Just answered my own question. I took the passenger kick panel out, not there. Could be in the pillar based on the link that had the antenna on the passenger dash. May try that this week when I have more time. If I do find it there I am buying a plug and placing it on the dash just like the other guy did.

Any update on this?

Zero. I have had no luck finding something to plug the hole in the roof and until I have that I cannot start.

No. That is for older trucks where the antenna is on the front part of the roof. Given there is a corve involved there whereas ours is more flat I do not think it will work.

It’s definitely more than just sat radio. My 2019 Ram 5500 work truck has the same antenna and that thing certainly is not equipped for sat radio. On the 19 5500, the shark fin antenna is mounted further forward, between the right side ICC lamps.
