We’ve sold quite a few of both setups and wanted to get some real-world feedback from TRX owners who haul or tow regularly.

If you’re running either the standard Eibach 1.5" rear springs or the Heavy Duty 1.6"–2.6" springs, we’d love to hear your experience:
  • How’s the ride quality compared to stock or with the Foutz Spacer?
  • How much weight do you typically keep in the bed (tools, gear, etc.)?
  • For those who tow, how’s the rear stance and performance under load?
And honestly — I’m asking partly for myself too. We haul a good bit of stuff, everything from parts and tires to dirt and tall plants. We’re currently running the Foutz rear spacer setup and have no complaints at all. But now with our new baby boy finally home, I’m sure we’ll be adding a bit more weight in the bed for those Florida-to-Northeast road trips.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s tested both options or has long-term towing/hauling feedback to share.

Ride quality is mostly unchanged from stock. With the weight in the back with the OEM springs it was pretty bouncy.

Details on my current setup:
Eibach 1.6" Front Springs
Eibach HD Rear Springs
37x12.5R18 Toyos with Vossen Wheels
RSI Smart Cap at 235lb
Decked System at 208lb
Spare tire at 14 lb over the OEM spare
Probably 60 lb of random gear and tools
Total of 517 lb

This pic had maybe another 100lb of recovery gear in the drawers.

It really, really depends on what you're towing and how your setup is done.

A load leveling hitch goes a long way if it's a heavier load.

This is what an extra 300 lb on the hitch and about the same in the bed over my normal setup looks like

Thank you for that very detailed post. Definitely gives us some insights.

How's the sealing / waterproofing of the RSI Cap?

Pretty good, though the foam on the top vent got gummed up with leaves and dirt and started to let water in. I figured I'd rather have dust than water so I just removed it and it's been dry ever since.

Running the Rear HD Eibach Lift Springs, with stock fronts and FMI spacers both front and rear. I feel that the ride quality is a little more bouncy, but I am pretty heavy. I do think the Eibach springs lose a bit of their original height over time. I have since added bags.

I estimate my fulltime load is around 700 lbs over factory, and around 1000lbs over factory all in the rear when fully loaded.
