I bet that flowmaster 10 sounds mean. I just bought a Corsa Extreme for my C8. You can get 5% off corsa's website is you use JUMPSQUADAUTO as a coupon code fyi whenever a TRX comes out. They aren't working on a prototype now but will be from what I hear.

Can you record a video of startup/revs? If you record a couple minutes worth and upload it to google drive, I can post it on youtube. I asked before @KnightMare.

Think of it as a charitable donation to the guy who never got his TRX to make content with lol.

Lol.. will do. Got the cold start up with factory sound this morning.

Got them. Can't upload for some reason. Besides I'm terrible with technology!

Sounds awesome. How is the drone??

What did you have done replaced those 2 stock resonators with Flowmaster 10 mufflers? I noticed the stock ones are straight through resonators, no back back pressure, no re-routing of exhaust gases. I would think the stock resonators would be louder & deeper than mufflers? Its weird that its cats to resonators, no mufflers.

I sealed up those 2 mess screens on each pipe today, 4 in total. I didnt take it for a drive because I wasnt using exhaust pipe wrap or exhaust tape but it seemed to make the tone deeper, slightly louder maybe, got pulled away on another project before I could fully test.

Not trying to be a wise guy, I’m curious because I’m trying to decide what to do myself; why not cut those resonators out & weld in pipe? If you have pics from underneath would love to see them

Pic from a forum member of where he cut out the resonators & had pipe welded in:

Yes, swapped the stock muffler for 2 series 10 flowmasters.
Resonators are next I believe.
Maybe just straight pipes all the way out.
My cops are pretty serious about noise here though.. the struggle is real!

What muffler? Did you swap the 2 resonators for 2 mufflers?

It’s exhaust manifold, pipe to 2 Cats, pipe to 2 straight through resonators at the back of the truck, pipe to exhaust tips.

From a youtuber, the 2 resonators :

Thanks for the info, personally I really like the stock exhaust sound. Though I’m curious to what your impression will be after taping off those screens. Please let me know what you find out and what kind of tape you use. Thanks

I'm no mechanic but I watched the man cut a muffler off my truck, asked if I wanted to keep them then toss them in the garbage....
Am I missing something?

The other Hellcats have both resonators & mufflers, the TRX only has cylindrical (absorptive) mufflers so my bad, the shape threw me off as well as others also referring to them as resonators. Usually mufflers are square, rectangular shaped & resonators are cylindrical.. I did some research & they (#8) are called mufflers in the exhaust diagram :

vs what I was thinking:

After the Exhaust manifold at the motor there‘s pipe that leads to the catalytic converters:

Then the “mufflers”:

This was off a TRX. You can see how its a straight shot, which is unusual for a car/truck muffler, more common for a resonator (which absorbs specific unwanted sound frequencies), usually exhaust gases in a muffler are re-routed, baffled or both, which also creates back pressure.

vs. a traditional baffled muffler, here’s a cutaway of the flowmaster 10:

Idle is one sound, but full throttle is where you know if you went to far for your sound tolerance.

This is spot on, on how to at cost, add exhaust sound.

Per Track Hawk owner who took it to far. His recommendations were, in the following order.

1) Taping the exhaust rear vent screens with exhaust pipe wrap, which are designed to reduce exhaust flow to tail pipes and reduce sound. This adds some more sound. Drive it for a while and see how you like it. If you like it, replace piping where exhaust vents are.

2) Muffler delete, adds more sound. I was told this was the perfect setup on Track Hawk for daily driving and sound is options 1 & 2.

3) Headers - pushed it to to far, to the point of being to loud to drive all the time, his family wont ride in the truck. But once you spend $2,500.00? on headers, they probably are not coming off.

Just depends on what you use the truck for and your sound tolerance.

I like the QTP cut outs, you keep your X pipe for drone reduction and it by passes mufflers and rear exhaust venting. At a click of FOB button you have full straight pipe exhaust with X pipe or silent stealth mode factory exhaust. Best of both worlds. You can sneak in and out of house late without waking up everyone in your house and the entire neighbor hood and when on the street, click the button and hand out the ear cracker on demand.

To each his own.

Thanks for the info. What’s the cost to do the QTP cut outs?

Interesting. Mine only has 1 mesh screen on each pipe.

Thanks for the info. What’s the cost to do the QTP cut outs?

There is not direct order QTP kit yet for TRX yet. As TRX is straight dual 3" exhaust, all the way back, where my Laramie sport was fake dual exhaust, 2 out of exhaust manifolds, Y pipe to one pipe in middle, then Y back to 2 exhaust tips.

Thus you need 2 of everything. It was about $450.00 in parts and they estimate 2-3 hours of time, as the cut outs are wired into the trucks electrical system and you can put a switch under the dash, if you dont want to mess with a FOB.

I know some people complain about them, but I think they either did a DIY install or something was not done correctly.

If you want to do this, I would look up on QTP site and find distributor/installer that has done a bunch of these. I had first set on the 2019 for over 2+ years now and they still work perfectly.

Its pretty fun, go from stock exhaust to race exhaust with a click of button.

If you need parts numbers, my performance shop ordered, I can get it for you.

Interesting. Mine only has 1 mesh screen on each pipe.

Really? The right side is tucked up there pretty good & it faces up, can only be seen from underneath the truck. Its about here:
