EGR Rolltrac/ Retrax EQ Tonneau Covers

I am leaning towards the Rolltrac based on a couple of reasons. I like the switches mounted at the rear of the cover. It also seems to be the most waterproof. My question is - could I just run it to power and ground and circumvent the wires that plug into the B-pillar harness? I would like to use one of the aux switches to determine when it receives power instead of it being controlled by the door locks. I know this isn’t a common tonneau cover, but if anyone has experience with the Retrax EQ, that may also be relevant to the wiring of the Rolltrac.

I'm very sure you could... but I'm pretty sure that would 'void' the warranty on the rolltrac as all the research has been done regarding how to tap in successfully with a couple of additional plugs.
