As we are still waiting for the drone xc dash cam to become available. How does it compare to other ones on the market?

Interior or exterior camera option and live streaming capabilities. Built in security sensors, motion and alarm trigger alerts, auto recording, gps ect.

The alarm trigger alerts is a pro. I'm not an advocate of blackvue or anything but just to compare them. The 970x plus is 4k resolution, has motion, live view, impact detection, and gps.

Cons I've found so far. Just my opinion...
Most will be if used as a stand alone unit.
Drone will win in the alarm integration aspect.

1. Gps tracking will literally be out of the window if they drive it away. That would be the same with any brand so not a biggie.
2. Blackvue buffers 10 seconds before an event. Could be useful in a hit and run type situation.
3. Starvis sensor isnt a starvis 2.
4. 2k resolution could be 4k.

I'm sure there are other brands that do cool stuff as well I just haven't researched them too much. Viofo seems pretty good from what I've read. They stopped selling ring dash cam shortly after release. I have last years blackvue 970x in the work truck and have been mostly happy with it. As far as I know none of them are great at reading a license plate in traffic quite yet. Just trying to decide what is " best" for the rex.

Is there a price for full alarm integration install or can it be done by the average joe?

Tentative pricing is looking to be $450-500 for an install either standalone or adding it to just a compustar that is installed. It will likely be cheaper if part of a full package install (for me it will be)

@Air’d outSRT , have you installed a Drone XC yet? If so, what do you think of the quality of the video through tint (front and rear cameras)? Also, anything to note about the XC?

appreciate any feedback you have to offer

I have installed them as well as several others. Quality isn’t bad but there are a few glitches (installer side not the dashcam itself, more on that in a second) but other than that its a good addition to the system or as a standalone. If you already have a drone in the vehicle I would have it hardwired and keep the subscription so you have a backup tracking just in case they break it off the windshield and thus disable that tracking option.
Glitch is the activation portion, we cannot see the camera positions when installing it and have to rely on the customer to tell us in their app. I went to Satera Tuning to install a setup on a hellion twin turbo trackhawk and the owner was in Boston. He had to make a new password and I logged in to get it setup. Just annoying is all. They are supposed to fix it in the future.

Ok sounds good. By chance have you see if the main and rear window camera are good through tint? (If so say 10-15%)

Would like to pick your brain (hopefully) one last time about Drone XC… @Air’d outSRT or anyone who has Drone XC and x1 max. I have been told on the phone by the people at Drone that they do not recommend keeping the X1 max and adding Drone XC for the main reason that if the vehicle(TRX) sits for more then 2 or so days the battery would likely be dead. Have you found this to be true, what’s your take?
(From a security POV, I would like to have the duel set up. I have an appointment this Friday for the install of XC just not sure what I want to do about my current X1 max…)

Not sure what they are talking about, having both is actually recommended if you are in a high crime/theft area and already have a drone installed. You hardwire the old drone and replace it with the dashcam. As with any newer vehicle, if you aren’t driving it for 5 days or more, use a trickle charger. Having both requires 2 subscriptions. I have done this same setup already and doing it on mine when I return from Maine Sunday since my new engine is in
