Whelp... Took the TRX in for the new driveshaft install due to clunking. They lubed it and put a new boot kit on it per SIB 03-002-25 .

As of 4/2025, the driveshafts are no longer being replaced and we are back to the lube! What a joke! This is info is straight from the SIB, not dealer speak.

@PotterTRX Thoughts?

It has been well documented on this site that the Ram lube kit and/or the new driveshaft are not long term solutions. So far, this grease seems to be working to eliminate the clunk for more than 18 months and 15k miles in the heat of Phoenix.

If that doesn't work, get the East Coast Driveline.

The newer ones already had the new driveshaft. To think this could all be fixed with a zurk. Like said above not new issue there is a better grease or a better driveshaft. I'm going new driveshaft if mine comes back as I already got the driveshaft swap from ram.

Glad it is still working for ya. I’m coming up on two years now with no clunk.

Mine does not, I checked the DS part numbers before even taking it in. Only super late 22 models and newer had the newest number

I was speaking after 22 that's my year and I got the replacement.

You’re correct. I had the driveshaft replaced once, clunk came back. Ram did their fancy lube job, and the clunk is back again. I’m going to take it in (again) for documentation purposes, but it’s time to look at an alternative solution like East Coast.

I really don't see the purpose of taking it to the dealer again. It's been 4 years and Ram has not come up with a permanent solution and it's unlikely that they are actively working on one.

IMO, you're time would be better spent lubing the splines with Schaeffer's 238 grease. @AZDinoPwr has eliminated his clunk for nearly 2 years using that grease and he's pushing big HP in the extreme heat of PHX.

I'm just starting to notice the clunk on my truck. I'm going to apply the Schaeffer's grease in the next week or so. I'm hoping to have the same results as @AZDinoPwr, but even if I have to reapply the grease every year, that's still better than taking it to the dealer.

i just had mine replaced and its back also !

Yes, had my driveshaft replaced. I had it lubricated. I had the trailing arms tightened. It has returned. I was really hoping that it had been solved. It has returned, bummer.

Did you get the new driveshaft? We're going on about 25k+ miles now with the new shaft and no clunk - fingers still crossed!

Curious how many miles on the new shaft?

The only difference between us and you guys who have gotten the new OEM Shaft and have the clunk returned is our King axle shock. Somehow maybe the softer axle shock prevents the clunk from returning. I have 0 evidence to support this theory other than us going 25k+ miles now and the clunk has NOT yet returned. We installed King axle shock about 1 week before installing new driveshaft. Shout out to @GP4L for giving us this theory a year or so ago.

Do you happen to remember the specific part number for the King shock? When I quickly searched for 2022 Ram TRX's on their website, it returned 224 pages of products...
I had my driveshaft replaced, and had it clunk again - I'd rather try something else vs. going back to the dealership again.

Website we bought it from here. We found this coupon code (not sure if it still works): POLYKING5

In the meantime, I should note that if your shaft is already clunking, i doubt it will stop the clunk. The theory is the softer axle shock prevents the OEM shaft from developing the clunk in the 1st place. Hopefully that makes sense!

I got a new driveshaft and the clunk came back, so they did the magic lube job, and the clunk is back again.
