Dram of the Day

Picked this up today while on a road trip through Denver. I was walking out the door when I saw the shop setting up a table of willett, blantons, weller, Taylor and a few other finds. All at MSRP. So i couldn’t pass on this, unless I wanted to pay 3-5 times what I paid. Trying it tonight with my buddy.

Looks good whatever it is! Had to have a little taste of Angels Envy finished rye since you mentioned it! Hope you figure out what brown juice you have in that decanter!!!! But, no harm, no foul! I'm sure it tastes good! Cheers!

I have bottles of Jack Daniels 10 and 12 year bourbon inbound, will share my thoughts once I have them. I couldn’t find them at any of my usual stores (because the store holds back most allocated bottles for their “clubs”), so I called my go-to in CA. Really wanted to find a bottle in the wild, but shops are treating these things like unicorn tears and gold, and charging accordingly.

Looking forward to your thoughts on them! I really don't want to pay secondary 350-450 on them if they are just "so-so"! I do really like Jack's selection. The bananas foster warmth is so good and I did enjoy the Bonded and Triple Mash.... can't wait for your review!

Agree at that price. I'm paying over MSRP, but not that high ($199).

Stopped in at Copper Run Distillery in Kimberling City, MO this week while on vacation. It’s a nice little small batch distillery that bottles moonshine, bourbon, whiskey, and rum. The honey whiskey is amazing, if you like the added sweetness of natural honey. They said the get the honey from the local Mennonites. My bill was near $300 with the bottles and swag… we nearly got one of everything in their shop.

I had a small taste of the 10 and 12 the day I got them. and they are both very good. Interestingly, to me, the 10 is quite a bit more forward on the nose and palate than the 12. If you like bold flavors, that's the one to get (of the two). The 12 is smoother, although higher proof. 2 years mellows things out, I guess. My personal preference is the 12.

If anyone on this thread is around the Nashville area on Monday, let me know if you'd like to join. I like to keep the group intentionally small, but I could add one or two to the fun.
