Do you guys want street or drag focused shocks?

We have a potential client asking for his drag truck. And since we are almost done with our off-road offering; making something lowered isn’t a problem.

We could do a 2.5” body coilover with dsc adjuster in the front

And a 2.5 piggyback with dsc in the rear..
Or
An air shock in the rear so you can better adjust rear spring rate and weight jacking.

We don’t have a solution for custom rear drop springs at the moment. But I can put you in touch with a company who can make them.

We just don’t want to take on the r&d for rear springs. We keep our costs low. And doing spring testing would make springs that should retail for $250 each triple in price.

This is the truck from the client, he is already running cut springs on stock shocks.

That looks sweet I wish they made a factory street truck like this,

So I just got done talking to the shock designer. He has one of my fronts and rears in his hands. Ben at Filthy have the other two.

We got the measurements of ride height shock lengths from the truck pictured.

The owner of Carbon told me front 2.5' coilover, remote reservoir, dual speed compression adjuster, 650# spring is $1699 pair
the rears will be a 2.5 piggyback reservoir, dual speed compression adjuster, $1299 pair

He can do no adjusters and that brings the cost down a bunch. And then the guy who owns that truck asked about non resie shocks to keep the weight down. Im getting pricing for the no resie shocks, but that will bring it down even more.

We can do an air shock for the rear... heck we could do air shocks for front too... but that will need some interest for the development

I wanted to show some pics of the piston used.
It’s a high flow piston like the race series of other companies. Carbon doesn’t have a low series.

Also the dsc adjuster. Low speed and high speed. I can get into that if needed in the techno babble

Looks like I may be the first to have an interest in this. I have been holding off for some more development on lowering Rex. Since I only drag race on the track I m not sure I’m interested in cutting the springs just yet, just need to think it through before making changes and talk with my chassis guy. Saying that, I am definitely interested in this.

I’m in talks with swift springs about making rear lowering springs. I just need to know ideal rear heights.
Or rear drop as it were.
Feel free to contact swift and let them know you heard and they would be more likely to make the springs; if there is vocal interest

I will definitely do that. Thanks for the tip!

Here are the rears. Awaiting Shafts to be made.
Aluminum bodies, DSC adjustable reservoirs.

Fronts are stainless steel. I’ll get pics of those in a bit. Also waiting on the shafts to be made.

Hopefully assembled in a couple hours.

Offered in 3 forms: non resie for lowest weight. Standard resie and last, dual speed compression adjuster resie.
Front coilovers have a 650# spring. We can do stiffer or lighter upon request.

(Rears require cut oem springs, someone is testing v6 ram 1500 springs, and swift springs will be releasing a drop spring.)

Core4x4 sells an adjustable drag link. Tell them I sent you and that will get you five cents off… maybe even six….

Here are the no resie version rears awaiting assembly.
Aluminum bodies.

The black marks are me trying to cover some specs on thr BOM. I gave up.

First set that hits the public, people can measure anyways.

I’m excited to see this finally happening. I was on the verge of having a custom set up built and being down for months on no end. At least now I can plan and not be down long for the suspension.

Looking forward to this rolling out! Thanks for the hard work and sharing updates!

I was fixing the suburban all day today. But picks of the non resie rear were sent to me today

Our trucks use really really wide spacing…

I have a pic of the front stainless steel body with a test upper mount, no resie....

So the spring company sucked again and it took forever for them to ship. Lots of “they shipped yesterdays”

But here is a pic of the no resie version and the remote resie with dsc adjuster.

And then the resie/dec adjuster next to an oem front shock.

The carbon shocks are 2.5” shock bodies, stainless steel bodies, aluminum reservoirs.

Rears are aluminum bodies and resies to keep the weight down.

Built around a 6-8 inch drop which sounds like a lot until you realize how tall the trucks are.

Oem front is 7.2 travel, these are around 4” travel. (I need to double check if it’s 3.8 or 4.2 travel)

We are baselining a 650# spring. We can go a little stiffer or a little softer if required.

Rear spring options are up to the client. You can cut your oem springs which is what most have been doing when running stock shocks. Or swift is coming out with a drop spring any time now. Last is I heard the v6 ram 1500 will give a good drop.

And no, the top hats are not on in this pic.

And here they are. Well the top hats aren’t on, they must still be in the packaging.

But sent this set out to a customer. He wanted all the bells and whistles:

-remote aluminum reservoirs
-Dual speed compression adjusters
-stainless steel front shock bodies
-aluminum rear shock bodies

These will bring the drag coefficient down and the weight transfer down, and get that power to the ground for you go fast 1/4 mile folk….

And for the street only guys looking to help with the corners…

These are 2.5 inch shock bodies, high flow pistons, all rebuildable, tunable, made in America in Oklahoma.

So we use a “high flow” piston that we make in house on all shocks. Not just the high end “race” shocks like the other companies.
You get the “race” parts on all shocks but don’t get the sticker shock.

This is the 2.5” shock piston, for reference the TRX factory piston is only 1.6” diameter.

Other details, if you want all the bells and whistles, here is the dual speed compression adjuster, high and low speed,.
Our high speed compression adjuster does effect rebound a little as well.

On road these really help fine tune the chatter and high speed.
Offroad the positives are so many, anti cavitation, splitting heat generation and the ability to essentially have “varying tunes” depending on use of the vehicle at that moment. On road, off-road, towing, empty… you can adjust the shocks to work better on what you are doing that moment.
